How are the fire effects influenced by ambient lighting? Can you post an example? It's been a while since I fired up the game.

Hard to say since I haven't done any research on the water caustics myself, but the first thing that comes to my mind is that are you testing with the same weather?

It's the old vanilla bug in the water foam mesh(es), should be very easy to fix.

Nice work! I have already grown to hate editing those particular meshes... Do you mind if I add those meshes to the main download?

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB
Yeah I know why, jisch those vertex colors, among other things
No of course not, any "particle mesh" I upload (if done correctly that is) should be added to your patch library, if you find it of any value of course

Yes, I see the water caustics on one spot, but it disappeared when I moved it a few steps away. I see the nif file has the bhkCollisionObject in the Trough node but not on the water like the other water nif file, so I wonder if that might be causing this disappearing. I set the WaterDirection to 22, and that brought back the wave reflection and wavy animation but no caustics. At least this shows water not an empty trough.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB
Hmmm never mind about the fire....after doing a quite long photo series of setting the same tree on fire during day, night and many different weathers then the fire itself seems to have the same color but the bloom changes accordingly. Guess that also makes a bit more sense.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB
Anyone knows what i need to change in the .nif to make grasses appear less bright with ENB (in some weathers).
I took a look at the grass clover .nif that was posted on the first page and compared to the old, the shaders were the same it seems so i guess there's something else in there that i couldnt find.
Thanks!

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB
Perhaps it's the vertex colors that have been dimmed down a tad?
Could you give the exact name and/or other grass types you have had troubles with and I'll see if I can make them less bright and post them and the changes I made.
Otherwise such meshes are affected by the ambient RGB value in the weather, not the ambient directional values but the "main" ambient RGB value

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB
I dont think it's the vertex colors. All grass meshes in my mod are too bright in some weathers if using ENB..
I got a reply here but not very informative: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=2472
not sure if he knows exactly which values or shaders it would be if so..
oh, and the provided grass on the first page has the same problem, just checked it in a save that i have with over-bright grass.
Maybe i need to tweak the weather then, that will kind of suck though since it would probably introduce incompabilities with SFO and any weather mod..

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB
Yeah I saw that thread of yours and mindflux is the mesh "master" around here, I don't think Boris knows the exact procedure to adjust those meshes however and neither do I at the moment but will take a look and see if I can produce a less bright version of the grasses.
Weather adjustments should be considered as the last resort if no mesh tweaks can be done with it or texture tweaks for that matter.
Which grasses should I keep an eye out for, if you know of f hand that is?
Is it the clover01.nif with the grassforest01.dds texture you were looking at?

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB
no, the other grass, i used the mesh and switched the texture for one of mine (which brightness i'm very familiar with, so i see when it looks off).
Most of the time it's not that bad actually, but in some ENB presets it looks terrible, you should check in rain/fog/snowstorms, sometimes the grass light up like crazy and don't blend well at all with the ground below or the overall lightning.
I use set timescale to 20000 and wait for appropriate weather to kick in.. though now i also have a save that i check from directly.
thanks

Ok now I only need a good location where those types of grass occur as I have no idea where that might be. Around Falkreath perhaps?
