I'm looking for a new DoF effect, and this looks amazing but I can't seem to get the clean circle shape like in some of the pics. It's always just six points. Seems like the quality setting isn't working?

This is all I'm able to get regardless of any setting changes. Am I missing something? The previous version works fine.

Thanks for the report,
found a bug in the GPmod process that ends up into a totally different blur radius function. Add a "min()" fix that.

Looks great. If I could only get the focusing to behave the way I want. Is there a setting that makes the DoF only kick in if you're within a certain distance of the object/surface you're focused on? For example I can look at a tree or some other object that's pretty far away and the distant mountains and sky behind it end up blurred.

You mean like only blurs the background when focusing on something near, and not to blur when focusing at long distance?

sounds like hyperfocal to me ;)

anyway, with DSLR version, you can set the F-stop, focal length accordingly to get any preferred hyperfocal distance.
With GP version, increase far_blur_curve can reduce background blur when focusing afar.

Another different between DSLR and GP is that the depth of field range increase linearly to the focus distance in GP while in DSLR, it is increased exponentially.

I've added a DoF Calculator at first post, you can toy with the sliders to test different settings. ( y-axis is blur radius, x is distance)

Would it be possible to include a bokeh brightness multiplier a/ threshold as in GP's original version ?...
The thing I'm lacking is the opportunity for effects to trigger in the blurred zones (ALFs...), besides ramping down the bias and ramping up the curves to zany values...

try to add thresholds & multipliers in the desired effect, I don't want to make it more complicate than it already was.
