Re: TES Skyrim

Hey guys, screens are looking fantastic, cant wait to re-install skyrim and get back to playing again.
Little off topic question but since some of you have talked about it before thought you lot would be the best people to ask...

I currently have a ATI 6950 2GB card and im looking to change back to nvidia... i have no idea what to go for with nvidia at the moment... i was looking at the GTX 660's or the 670's... £300 is my absolute limit so the 680's are out of my price range... what would you guys recommend and what do some of you run?

Re: TES Skyrim

I run a ASUS GTX 670 DirectCU with 2 GB and I can absolutely recommend it. ;)

Re: TES Skyrim

GF 670 is the ideal at this moment, because 660 will be at least 25-30% slower with ssao, skylighting, dof.

Re: TES Skyrim

Yes I wouldn't recommend a 660ti at this moment, not for ENB anyway, the bus width for the memory has been butchered to 192bit. I was going to get one but the performance drops are too much for the price they're asking.

I was considering a 7950, but I keep reminding myself of AMD drivers etc.. and anyway, I'm an Nvidia fanatic LOL.

I've finally decided to keep my GTX 460 for now, I just bought Metro 2033, set it to dx11 and High settings and it ran at 60-40fps mostly. Never dropped below 35. I had a GREAT experience, the graphics were great, and the game ran 100% smooth. That game made me realise just how much life my old 460 has left in it.

I'm waiting for the gtx 7xx series for now.

Re: TES Skyrim

8?

Ok, there must be some logical reason. Highest quality SSAO, Highest quality Skylighting, highest quality everything else. Plus, dat resolution. 1440p. 16xAA? I mean the 670 is a great card, you must have some crazy stuff going on here.

Grass + SSAO = kill

And im not using regular AA (MSAA/SSAA/SGSSAA), only FXAA for that screenshot.

Re: TES Skyrim

Actually come to think of it, that's glorious grasses you're using, and the SSAO has to be computed between all that grass  no wonder you're seeing 8fps
