Tried it for a few minutes in the areas at beginning of the game, no issues (on Win8). using SkyRealism ENB.

Do you have something specific I look for? (Screenshots?)
Getting lots of reports of this on other forums, so it seem its not just me... Some areas seem to work fine, so it seems at bit random, but you get either an over-bright or over-dark lighting... some of my shadows turn bright blue, and there is some wild flickering.

Gone back to previous WHQL set and all is well again... there seems to be some widespread issues with this driver set.
I too have this problem with the latest update. It's worse than just flashing - sometimes i get glimpses of it working fine but mostly just... well. here are some shots

I hope everybody understand that i will not develop any fixes for latest drivers, it's not my problem at all.

Code: Select all

Hmm. This place is so much different than I pictured in my head
Haha! Fits so well the screenshot comparison.
You should delete the latest drivers, they are even buggy about fan controls.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.120 beta

+1 : just revert to previous 306.97 WHQL drivers, with a clean install.
Nothing to do with ENB, the 310.33 is causing flickering even on my web browser...

Re: TES Skyrim 0.120 beta

There was a time, NVidia drivers were so damn good, much better than ATI.
But know i got the feeling, they get worse with every new release/update, while AMD is getting better and better.
And that not only on Windows with DirectX, but also on OpenGL or Linux...
Wtf is NVidia doing? Same with next chip: TDP of 300W for the GK110. Wtf?

Of course not Boris... I just hope nV sort this out and its not a 'feature' of releases from now on, as I do like to keep up to date with drivers.

This is the first issue I've had with a nV driver since getting my 670 - the woes I had with AMD before make this seem like an inconsequential blip, so I'm not too bothered about one glitchy driver, as long as it is just that.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.120 beta

Nvidia has clearly stated the new drivers, 310.33, are not supported by Microsoft nor is it certified. Just wait for the WHQL driver set that may come out later on, since at the moment it's entirely BETA (and hence, it's not good at all).

Regarding 0.120 binary, so far pretty good. Interestingly, less performance hit (despite no hardware AA support) and less of that black halo around objects. Some artifacts do appear, but very minor (I mean, extremely minor). As well, shadows are a tad more darker than 0.119 binary, if that's something to report. Finally, transparency on weapon/shield is lessened (based on my vision, anyway), is that also part of the SSAO calculation improvement? Cheers.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.120 beta

WHQL means absolute jack, and beta does not mean bad... though these for Skyrim+ENB are. I've used way more beta drivers than WHQL over many-many years and generally have had zero issues with them, and will continue to use them... Also tried the .34 set which also break ENB.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.120 beta

Just a question, how should I offset the darker shadows in 0.120 binary, since in 0.119 the shadows are a tad lighter in tone?

@DogStar
Sorry about that, my friend. I'm just speaking from experience using AMD over the last six years, since WHQL was and is actually better on my end. The only BETA for AMD that worked nicely was 12.7 BETA, otherwise all others didn't do any good. No disrespect, of course :)

As far as I've noticed the difference is chiefly in SSAO - perhaps first try to decrease SSAO amount, and if necessary, increase IL amount as well.
