Re: TES Skyrim 0.120 beta

ENBSeries wrote:Found that bug which display dark shadow when camera rotated to sun. It's appear only when quality of detailed shadow is set 0 or -1.
I just also test it with value 1 and 2. They also show the same bug in 0.120

Re: TES Skyrim 0.120 beta

@toadzor

on nexus there is an excellent guide to enb, that helped me a lot:
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/8005
All you have to be aware of is the fact, that setting values to 1 doesn't mean it looks like vanilla, so if you want some effects to look like or nearly like vanilla it's a long "trail and error" procedure.
To avoid this, use this http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23765, and just replace the binary with the newest release (the .dll). Then 1 is near vanilla.

I think the waiting for the new version will be worth it :)

Damn crap, spent entire day to make fake antialiasing (similar to smaa or fxaa) for vanilla shadows, result is far less good than just bluring randomized samplers.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.120 beta

Getting continued issues with ENB and the latest nV drivers... I've just tried 310.54 and am getting flashing and odd coloured darks in the shadows.

This is a bit of a blow, as I like to keep up to date with drivers to [hopefully] get the best out of newer games.

So I'm either stuck with and older driver or .117 enb.

Unless anyone know a way around this?

Re: TES Skyrim 0.120 beta

I've noticed that it happens at night and in dungeons when you approach certain light sources. Then ENB will start flickering and color everything cyan.

For example, at the beginning of the game, you can play the entire Bleak Falls Barrow dungeon without any problems, but at the end when you reach the Word wall (with that "learn a word" light effect) then ENB will flip out. Fast traveling to Riverwood fixes it then.

Haven't found a workaround yet.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.120 beta

This might be a noob comment, so I apologize in advance. The only time I ever notice flashing of shadows lighting or reflections is when I have V-sync and other relative options off. I usually force Vsync with my video driver as well as turn on triple buffer. Additionally I always lock fps with enbseries.

I don't understand, why to search of walkaround if it's drivers bug? Report to nvidia, or you are M?

Re: TES Skyrim 0.120 beta

As said before: newest driver is not always the best option.
If you have found a driver working (well and fast) for you, stay with it.
Only if you find your game(s) in the patch notes of a new driver release to be said to be debugged or more performaned update to it. But prepare to revert back at any time.

For me, using a AMD Radeon 6850, does that mean, that I stay with Catalyst 12.3. Haven't found anything in the patch notes of newer releases that had me had to update.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.120 beta

If you're getting that problem with APPLYGAMECOLORCORRECTION enabled, try this:

Change this line in enbeffect.fx:

Code: Select all

r0=_c3.z * r1 + r0.y;
to this:

Code: Select all

r0=clamp(_c3.z * r1 + r0.y, 0.0, 65535.0);
It might not be the same problem I had, but it does kinda sound like it.
