Re: TES Skyrim 0.121 beta

Hmmm, OK. But 0.7 or 3.7 amount = same level of darkening
However... it's strange since it seems to be working.... or I have VERY bad eyes :D

Corvo
This mean fx do not limit much videocard, something else in the game cost much performance

Oyama
It's range, not darkening

Re: TES Skyrim 0.121 beta

What should i see on screenshots? Difference in brightness of some areas? Only skylighting and detailed shadows may do this, color changes of any kind are not applied.

Sorry, my last reply was made without reading yours, it was not related to performance: as I said I'll be doing more accurate tests this afternoon, since I know that I wave a lot of stuff which slow down my game, so I'm gonna try without them, also.

I did the screenshots not just for the brightness itself, but show that SSAO appears somewhat weaker but probably more soft and well-defined (see the grass, for instance).
I just wanted to know if this is the right result you wanted to obtain. Keep in mind that the 2 screenshots were made with the same ini configs, just version change.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.121 beta

@Boris :
True, close ranges like 0.3 need LOTS of amount to be noticeable (I went from 0.7 to 4.0  )
If I set range to 0.8 and amount to 3.0, I can notice it much more, but compared to 0.120, it's like I have to multiply amounts by x5 to notice SSAO.
You're right, reminds me of Nvidia AO...... :?

0.120 beta SSAO was like perfect to my eyes, more noticeable, and is a pleasure to use in combination with SkyLighting (SSAO taking care of close ranges and SkyLighting of wider ranges in exteriors).
Also, having strong close ranges is very good as well to control interior lighting easily via effect.fx.

Sorry Boris, tweaking all these parameters shall give you LOTS of headaches.....

Re: TES Skyrim 0.121 beta

I did some performance tests (before this afternoon last update) in the first 60 seconds of game (cart cutsene).

Here are the results:

ENB v0.120 (unmodded, no SSAO, DOF or SkyLightning)
Min, Max, Avg
55, 63, 59.900

ENB v0.121 (unmodded, no SSAO, DOF or SkyLightning)
Min, Max, Avg
54, 63, 59.933

ENB v0.120 (unmodded, SSAO, DOF and SkyLightning)
Min, Max, Avg
44, 60, 54.250

ENB v0.121 (unmodded, SSAO, DOF and SkyLightning)
Min, Max, Avg
47, 63, 57.467

So I confirm that I got an improvement of about 2-3 FPS with SSAO, DOF and SkyLightning activated.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.121 beta

0121 gives me almost 10 fps boost,awesome!
i can maintain 50+ fps with all max out, including skylighting.
the major improvements i noticed:
1,shadow quality corrected and improved.
2,everything less blurred,means clearer,especially exterior.

Thanks so much Boris!
