mindflux wrote:Exactly what trustinall said. Boris is the sole developer of ENB with limited resources, and since he's not a big-money company with vast testing processes, it's obviously impossible to test ENB with all possible system configurations. Since he's also not a psychic, there's no way he can know what causes any given issue with your specific system configuration. I don't want to sound rude, but you need to learn to help yourself, and to be honest, that's the name of the game in modding - if you can't handle it, better play the vanilla game.
I never asked him to test it with all configs. I brought up an issue with the modern version, because that's what this topic was supposed to be for. I'm not the only one having these issues, and something other than what was listed in the readme's must have been changed.

I know he's not a psychic, but the only way he could fix issues is if they are brought up to him here, and that's what we were instructed to do on this topic, yes? Yet bringing up valid issues was returned with hostility and insults as if I have done something wrong by reporting information.

When in time once these issues are resolved, it will be seen that there was either A) undocumented changes, or B) a bug causing these issues. Which means the hostility was for no reason at all since there is a valid issue happening here.
trustinall wrote:@spyridon a bunch of us are having problems lately and it can be frustrating, but please keep it civil, boris doesn't owe us anything, yet has always come through with a stable version sooner or later, so patience is the key here and not calling names
Excuse me but you must have misread. I would like you to quote where I called him any names. Everything in the quotes I pasted were HIS words, not mine.

In truth HE called ME names, I did not call him any names. And all I did before that was notify him of issues with the current version, and notify him that nvidia does not even have a download for the older versions anymore, since he told us he would update the ENBseries to workaround. And I was called lazy and stupid in return.

I find it kind of crazy that people are responding to me as if I did anything wrong, when I have received uncalled for insults. Also people acting like I expect more from him, when all I expect is not to read insults that I do not deserve. And for some reason people are acting like it's wrong to call names, yet he called me names and people defend it? I'm not the one that needs to be instructed to keep things civil...

Is there a reason for this? I have done this in the past, and looked at the files compared in notepad++ and there is no difference from old and generated other than parameters I edit such as ugrid values.

Well, mindflux - over at Nexus some poopie had stolen the name :D Thanks for the message, I'll check it out. I don't visit Nexus that often these days, so if it's important, better PM me here.

I just checked and EInteriorFactor works inverted just like Boris described. To make the transition easy, just invert it when declaring your own alias like this:

Code: Select all

float whateveryouwanttocallit = (1-EInteriorFactor);
Then simply use the alias afterwards - in the best scenario, you're already doing it.

spyridon
I wasn't referring to you specifically as I'm not even familiar with your problem. But while on the subject, does the issue persist with stock ENB files?

And please all, stay on the subject and forget the stupid who called who first, it's not going to do any good.

You need to let the game create new ini files for you, make sure you delete the render info file also. Wrote a much more detailed explination but apparentley the forum thinks I was trying to spam as I am a new user. Remember to make a back up though.

I am using driver 306.97.
This is good advice. :) Thank you for sharing. I forget sometimes this is necessary. Hoping it will solve some minor glitches.
And for the record Nvidia card owners. 306.97 is probably the last good driver version without compatibility issue with ENB, or so it would seem for most.

Sorry, 136. I don't remember tabbing out, but the effect you are talking about I saw. Like needing to reload the config.

I only used 138 for a few hours before the 139 update was released.

Thanks! Great advice, and it worked to get the HD6 section of my enbeffect.fx working properly again. I must have messed something up when I reversed them all by hand, but this makes much more sense as I was already using an alias. I would never have guessed that syntax; major kudos!

Good to hear you got it sorted out. Sometimes it's best to keep things simple, also helps to keep the code readable further on. And tell me about typos in code, just yesterday it honestly took me half an hour or so of puzzling and cursing to figure out that I had spelled rgbint as rbgint in one place - I admit I felt pretty stupid...

I just did more testing and I have to say the way Boris implemented a fade between interior day and night factor is really clever. I don't know whether the effect is ever visible to the user, but it looks pretty cool when changing the time of day via console.

I noticed this as well. however it transitions too quickly for my taste. Which setting controls the timing?

Does the shift occur abruptly in normal gameplay as well? After resting?
