Re: TES Skyrim 0.153

Just got a chance to try out the rain in-game. It looks great! Now if you could only figure out some way to make the droplets disappear when the collide with geometry XD

Eastwood is a legend mate.

Boris may I suggest adding the enable for Rain (and any other enable for effects added that's not listed there) along with the other effects like Depth of Field etc in the next version?

Not a priority, obviously, but seems logical to have them either all under the effects section or all within their own section rather than a mix of the two.

I guess Boris is waiting to finish water effects before moving everything to the effects section.... :D

Re: TES Skyrim 0.153

^ you guys are almost trolling. Those gifs are (insert distastful word). And it doesn't really matter where the enables are when the ENB is not even complete. I'm sure when ENB is finalized Boris knows where to put all the enables.

As for 1.53 I think the rain needs work. It looks too much like it's been drawn with a pencil or pen and doesn't fit in 100% naturally with the rest of the game. I tried altering the values under [rain] but I couldn't get it to look right. I think the sprite is possibly too crisp (as in the edges are too defined) and the rain is too dark. The only option to fix this was to up transparency to the point where rain is almost not visible but then the stylistic approach is lost. But w.e, it's just my opinion and maybe this can fixed with .tga.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.153

Having fun, celebrating a new effect, and offering constructive feedback equals trolling? :D

I did make it quite clear my suggestion wasn't a priority, obviously. Would just be nice to have it all in one place seems Boris does actually move stuff around like that, as he has done in previous versions.

And I don't think ENB will ever be finalized. There's always something new to implement that Boris seems to have his beady eye on. :)

For the rain values I went with...

[RAIN]
Enable=true
EnableAntialiasing=true
EnableSupersampling=true
MotionStretch=0.5
MotionTransparency=0.8

...used with the raindrops_small.tga and it looked ok to me, though I might have a play with it later in GIMP to see what else can be done with it, purely for science of course, you know? :)

I didn't notice there was no humour, gifs or celebration allowed.
Also, next time, I'll post a few technical sentences and suggestions about what doesn't look right, and forget about what was improved. Better ?
No offence meant, but I don't think we're around to judge anybody or anything.
