Re: TES Skyrim development

Yes, if I can blur the DOF with just certain weather, that would be very nice.

Re: TES Skyrim development

The in game fog, during the battle for Whiterun, I think looks good. Is that a special weather during that battle?

Re: TES Skyrim development

It's horrible, glowing like bloom in many unreal engine 3 games. Distance based blur must be used instead of that and game fog is not what i wanted to show by images in first post. Anyway idea failed, modified distance fog in movement look much worse in game compared to screenshots edited in photoshop. No fog height or volume - no good fog at all.

Re: TES Skyrim development

@ Boris
Is it possible to place that "blur" at the end of the skybox/horizon? That and z-fighting are the only annoying things left in the game.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned before.

Re: TES Skyrim development

I have no idea how to apply fog without information about height and without fogging sky. Fog must be applied as haze, based on vertical density. Will try to experiment more.

Re: TES Skyrim development

Tried again to edit images to see what i can do with fog, this time made separate sky, landscape rocks, fog factor as distance. Nothing new, any blending looks bad.

Ah well too bad. No big deal though. :) You do what you feel is right of course. Thank you for trying!
Also what's that signature pic? Looks like that old Daft Punk video.

Re: TES Skyrim development

Maybe consider making particle effect on camera. This fog is moving in game around player.

And sunset with Sunglare looks kinda cool

Just idea. Can be done. Very costy performance wise, but I just a noob editor :P
