Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Not sure if this is related to the discussion here.

The embers look so dull.. Maybe there is a parameter in the ENB config I'm missing to make the embers look more realistic?
I have had great looking embers in the past, so not sure what I've changed...

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Okay I have a rather strange issue that I just discovered as I was making my own preset. Not sure how long the problem have been present.
I have checked that your particle patch is not the cause! And checked that the problem vanish if I disable ENB in the GUI.

Also checked all the individual SSAO options etc. Also checked it against a few different enbeffect.fx files all have it.
It seems like there is an area around these tree posts that makes weapons and hands transparent.
If I walk away far enough there is no issue at all, and so far the problem seems to be isolated to just a few wood work textures like the poles in riverwood and the frames of the doors.

Most likely the reason I have not noticed it before is that if the brightness of the preset is low enough the effect is hardly noticable.

The blue halo around the hands I guess is due to tonemapping values.

It looks like you too have become a victim of a buggy mesh replacer or a mod that otherwise modifies the embers. Someone had the same problem a page or two back, and I'd say the only sensible solution is to remove the offending mod. Try temporarily renaming data/textures and data/meshes, and see if it helps.

Aiyen
That's a known issue caused by the way the first-person stuff is implemented in the game (the first-person hands and whatnot are not rendered in the same world space as everything else), and there's most likely nothing you can do. If the issue is more severe with certain objects, I guess the collision bounding box (basically a separate, invisible object, often simply a box, hence the name) might play a role as well.

The halo looks weird, likely down to inappropriate IL settings.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

You where right that halo was due to IL values!

Sadly it seems like every object in the gameworld does the transparent weapon/hands both interior and exterior.
It vanish if I disable both IBL and SSAO... guess there is no other option then to create a preset that minimize the effect.
I am just sure it was not like this a few weeks ago.. so rather strange that it just started now.
Using the same weapon textures and meshes that I was then... and also been using v.155 since its release, and now v.157.

Nothing you can do except to disable SSAO - or stop running into things (insert appropriate smiley here).

To be honest, if you stop paying attention to the issue you don't even notice it after a while.

Hey mindflux, I'm have some issues with the dawnbreaker... I have your files installed+ultimate fire installed over it+Project ENB, and dawnbreaker is still way overbright.

It's caused by high bloom levels and whatever settings that controlled the intensity of that, LIGHTSPRITE maybe. So adjust those and it will go away. But it will of course change the look of other things as well, especially the bloom.

Hm. Now I'm having trouble with the entire particle patch... are there any additional steps beyond mergeing it with the skyrim data folder? Because my deathbells still glow...

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Do you run the original bethesda HD pack with the .esp placeholders and .BSA?

If so they will take priority over any textures that is located in the texture folder.

That goes for meshes as well.

A work around is that you add those .bsa folders in to your skyrim ini files.

Example set up of your skyrim .ini files.

Skyrim.ini;

[Archive]
sResourceArchiveList=Skyrim - Misc.bsa, Skyrim - Shaders.bsa, Skyrim - Textures.bsa, Skyrim - Interface.bsa, Skyrim - Animations.bsa, Skyrim - Meshes.bsa, Skyrim - Sounds.bsa
sResourceArchiveList2=Skyrim - Voices.bsa, Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa, Update.bsa, Dawnguard.bsa, Hearthfires.bsa, Dragonborn.bsa

Add any .bsa file you have to sResourceArchiveList2 beyond the vanilla Skyrim ones and the DLC's depending on which you run.

You might have a mod that alters the deathbells textures and/or meshes.

It's at least worth a try or check up.

But before that make sure you have installed it properly and overwrite any files with the Particle patch files, with the fixes you want from mindflux Particle Patch files that is.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Thanks for the tip! I am using the Official HD pack (and HD Texture pack Fix mods), though I'm not sure how it's installed. I'll take a look at it when I get the chance, later this week.

I am certain of my installation, though. Dropping files+WATER patch into data folder->Installing Ultimate HD Fire after over that.
