Since you asked so nicely, here's a proto patch for you to test. After applying the patch you should be able to control waterfall intensity with [PARTICLE] parameters. I didn't test it very thoroughly myself, and I sure didn't run around Tamriel looking for different types of bright waterfalls, so in case you spot any issues (or find the patch useful), do let me know.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

I always found that with proper enbeffect.fx setting you can make the waterfalls behave somewhat.

This is the best I have been able to produce so far.

That said then I guess some sort of retexture might help several presets quite a bit, since it is a rather pesky one.

Yes, lowering brightness helps, but at the same time torches and other light sources tend to lose their luminosity, so careful tuning is required. I guess the patch above should solve the issue, though.

Test results with the files you provided
Here for testing purposes IntensityDay=0.0 for particle

Foams and splashes gone dark as expected. But rest of it still same throughout all weather, day or night.
Lowering brightness from enbeffect.fx affects entire preset demanding a full revamp which is pain. Everything OK vs. Bright waterfall or, everything messed up to fix waterfall, you guess where I'd go xD

Which is why i was hoping something related to mesh or texture that can "normalize" that bugthesda waterfall.

Also W.A.T.E.R mod replaces those same files to tweak the speed and match it with water flow speed.

Hmm that is really odd, works for me. Might also be a texture issue, I guess, if someone has messed with alpha... Can you share (privately) the preset so that I can check it out?

Not sure what's going on there, my waterfalls look like this at night with stock E ENB and my patch above applied:

Maybe they could be a teeny-weeny bit darker, and the steam looks like shit, but seems alright otherwise. I have to admit I didn't bother downloading COT, but I'm guessing it's more down to other mods you're using.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Yes i have been researching, CoT is a possible mod that can cause weird lighting. I will do some tests about that.
Will let you know if i can reproduce similar result.

Cool. Also try renaming textures/effects (e.g. put _ at the end) to find out if the culprit is a mischievous texture mod.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Figured it out kind of. CoT or no CoT was mainly caused by ReflectiveAmountNight from IBL. I upped it a lot to get a good atmosphere in some other location with different weather. Now lowered it and found a balance inbetween and its all fine.

With your patch though it really helped balancing. Did not have to lower intensity so much and ruin other places. Maybe a little bit more darker to allow some more particle intensity.

Conclusion - its a helpful patch still. Putting this in W.A.T.E.R compatibility package will be useful, will have to edit meshes from mod though.

Textures greatly affects reflection and IBL reflectivity right? In that case i was only using textures coming from WATER mod.

Re: Skyrim particle patch for ENB

Ah, good catch - didn't come to think IBL might play a part as well, but of course. Boris knows better how Reflectivity parameter works, but usually it's not a good idea to ramp it up too much.

But thanks for testing and working it out, I will add the patch files to the main download after I've made the waterfalls a little bit darker, like you suggested. W.A.T.E.R. will have its own files for maximum compatibility.

Happened to loiter by some icicles again, the UVs really need some love soon...
