Re: TES Skyrim
Quick question: Does anyone know what setting affects Ghosts, Magic Effects, etc? I don't mean the actual 'flame' of the fire but the 'extra' effects such as the glow rings when healing. I would prefer to be able to do a quick fix using the ENB but for those that mod the CK I might be willing to toy around with it as they are about 90% of the problem atm (although haven't tweaked interiors to my liking yet either). Its just driving me nuts as I have days/nights pretty balanced other than that. I went back to my old settings though and began tweaking for newer ENB atm as it was why I left it collecting dust in the first place.
On a side note: I love the newest ENBSeries although I'm not sure how much time I'm going to invest trying for weathers (so disabled them for now).
I can't quite decide on Ambient/SL/Direct (as for me I need to tweak all 3 when I change any of them). So shadows are darker than my current settings but I thought I would share something other than just asking a question.

OMFG. Those close ups are absolutely fantastic! How'd you get so awesome looking eye lighting?
Also, your screens are a bit fuzzy around the edges. Are you using the effect.txt for it or is it bloom?
I'm trying to achieve EXACTLY the look you already mastered.
I'm serious, this thread could make The Louvre go bankruptcy lol!

I haven't mastered anything I just use parts of ENB Presets that others have mastered
I don't really know how I got the eye lighting or the fuzzy edges :? I use the eyes of beauty mod which I really like, plus it could be some image based lighting and pretty high amounts of SubSurfaceScattering values:
SubSurfaceScatteringMultiplierDay=0.85
SubSurfaceScatteringMultiplierNight=1.2
SubSurfaceScatteringMultiplierInteriorDay=1.2
SubSurfaceScatteringMultiplierInteriorNight=1.2
SubSurfaceScatteringPowerDay=12.0
SubSurfaceScatteringPowerNight=10.2
SubSurfaceScatteringPowerInteriorDay=10.2
SubSurfaceScatteringPowerInteriorNight=10.2
Those are the same values that Oyama uses. I used to have the multipliers all at 2.0 and the powers all at 12.0 in some past configs, but I decided to try his settings because he is a much better tweaker than me
Also that character is very good for screenshots
As for the fuzzy edges, the effect.txt and the bloom are both from The Wilds preset and I haven't done any tweaking to those. I don't know if that could be it. Maybe the new DoF I'm using which is Oyama's Default Screenarchery Q7 for 1080p.
My recent method of madness that works for me is to set up a screenshot with the tilde key, tfc 1 and tm. Then Alt-Tab to switch out a file, only working on one thing at a time such as bloom, SweetFX settings, etc. And then I go back in the game, refresh the screen with tm and then tm again to get rid of the hud, and then take another screenshot with the new file. I also keep track of what screenshot is from what file. After I've done this with a few different files, then I look at all of the screenshots with my image viewer. You can really see the difference by going back and forth through the images and seeing what file has the certain settings that you like the best. It seems like a big process but it really doesn't take too long.
Anyway, that's my crazy way of doing things
Thanks for the positive feedback though

Oh, no reason to uninstall CoT to try my crap
If it fits what you're achieving, keep it !
I love your style, quite unique and it's what matters the most.
symphonicjohn
" Frankenstein ENB ", huh ?
Love the name ! Once finished, throw it over there for a try, I'd like to see what you're doing with it.
Also... "better tweaker" ? Non-sense, you know it. Everyone of us can have some luck when the values fit, or turn around the same idea during months
Guess I've been VERY lucky with K's "history". Also, Midhras has been of HUGE influence in it, and a TON of initial ideas were his as they were mine.
Constant sharing, you know...
For example, he *first* had the idea to split the DoF for D, N, I. Once Boris implemented the factors and --JawZ-- led the way about the right lerping with his first DNI effect.fx s, I just had to follow, I did nothing more.
mindflux
You, oldwiz !!! When the HELL are you gonna share that setup of yours ??
And plz don't go in the "it's broken" self-underestimating thing, coz the more it will be silly and unbalanced, the more I'll want to give it a try !

Well I think you have a frikkin great setup there. Love to try it! BTW you have a finished preset on Nexus?
I'm using Oyamas DOF too, but it's set to Q3 only.
K ENB is a really great preset to learn from. I think Oyama struck a nerve among gamers world wide. prOPA was my favourite for a long time.
I'm also using that eye mod, it has some really good textures. I haven't found a single hair mod that doesn't make the hair look like plastic though... Apachii is good but the colors are sometimes wrong in comparison to the facial hairs. Anyway. I have to try those SSS values.
That's a cool strategy when taking screenshots. I can only Alt+Tab about 4-5 times, after that I get CTD.
Have you changed FOV when taking close ups on characters? I'm using 40-50 when taking character screenshots and about 80-95 on landscapes.
Gah I wish I had the patience to learn HLSL...
