Re: TES Skyrim

Hey all,

decided to do a clean reinstall, and starting anew... Just wondering a few things;

1- if any of you install a lot of mods to get the results you get here (i know millage vary), but I'm just looking into your input, see what most of you went for.

I am planning to mostly install hd textures and mods that improve visuals; I would appreciate any feed back you guys can give me.

2- Also, is the nvidia guide still useful regarding the different changes they propose of is it outdated?

3-Lastly, have any of you used the ugrid beyond 7 in your screens?

Thanks everyone for you input!

STEP is really a great guide to prevent conflicts while still installing a huge number of great mods (on The Pirate Bay, you can find all of the mod files with the right installation order etc. in one but of course that doesn't count as a download for the mod developers). Other than STEP, I have a few mods like SkyRe, face and body mods etc. but if you keep a small amount of mods outside of STEP resolving crashes and conflicts is very easy since you only have a few mods that could cause problems, STEP being pretty much crash-free. If you want your game to be as stable as possible, don't change your uGrids and instead enhance your distant terrain with texture mods and enable DoF in ENB.

I LOVE these new screenshots. Will you ever release a preset?

Re: TES Skyrim

saltr

I'll post the preset below. I just started using mindflux's grass and haven't noticed any fps loss so you might want to try it out. Also that PP4 shot was interesting, never tried that setting before.

Unreal

Nice shots...good to see you ventured outside :P And very nice indoor character shot.

OhKay

That's funny, I have yet to see that happen. Add it to the list of strange happenings in Bethesda land :P

goddavid

I have the Skyrim HD Textures, Skyrim Flora Overhaul, Static Mesh Improvement, W.A.T.E.R. You can also add things here and there according to your preference, such as Bellyache's Animal and Creature pack, HD Dragon Replacer pack, Ultimate HD Fire Effects, etc. Plus you can get from here...mindflux's great new grass texture and Confidence-Man's great bark textures.
I have heard too many horror stories about ugrids so I keep mine at 5. Although I have some distant terrain mods, it's still not all that great. I just avoid those screenshots :P

Here's the new preset. I just started it a couple of days ago so it's not nearly finished and settings may vary since I use all of JawZ' ELE files. I did steal Unreal Warfare's settings for interiors, so credit is due there ;) I always liked the interiors to Unreal Cinema and never was able to get mine the way I liked. The files are Oyama's separated bloom, PP2 vanilla enbeffect that has been slightly tweaked, effect.txt from The Wilds ENB, enbeffectprepass is from Oyama - Q7 screenarchery balanced DoF, the enbpalette is from Unreal Cinema and that's basically it, no SweetFX used.
Anyway, maybe someone can help tweak it, I have no ego when it comes to these things ;) The inspiration and look I'm trying to achieve is in the area of Gionight, Confidence-Man and Unreal Cinema.

Re: TES Skyrim

Thanks for all your answers...

Finaly went with a few mods here and there...but now I'm stuck on the ENB..

Been using Skyrealism for some time now, but I'm looking for something new.. Something very realistic... kinda like what I see in saltr screens! (Those look amazing!)
Ideally, I would like to have climates of Tamriel also (i didn't install it now since I'm using Unreal cinema, but I really do miss those sunsets / sunrise and the rain...)

Any help would be much appreciated (again! :P )

Project ENB has a realistic preset in it's download. If you also use the optional download that contains some SweetFX realistic settings, it looks very natural.

Re: TES Skyrim

First time playing an Argonian, as I was getting tired of all the identical Nords/Imperials/Elves.

Always quantity with quality :)

nico53laval & Rubber-De-Flubber
would be cool if there was a mod with shooting swords :o

Forest
capturing pics in bmp doesn't make any of better quality than other formats. it depends on the hoster sites that compresses the image. for i, capturing in png then converted to jpg. setting at %100 quality. imageshack seems to compressed my images a bit, making them a little darker but i thinks its not bad compares to other sites.
