Re: TES Skyrim 0.187

That was test vs 0.188 on download page :)
Odd thing is both have identical fps until camera moves somehow, then the 0.188 on download page gets "choppy"
but the last dll you posted stays fine similar to 0.187.

I didnt know IgnoreLoadingScreen always been like this, I wont make any more fuzz about it then :>

Re: TES Skyrim 0.187

Thanks for the answer. And thanks for ENB - it's amazing.

One more question regarding the latest releases. enb_reference.esp is not really needed if not using the new weather effects or temporal aa, right? I get these mesh glitches that are mentioned in its readme and as I'm not using the weather effects (currently) or ENB's temporal aa it should be OK to skip the esp I guess?

Yes.

If that test really differ from "official" 0.188, then it's something in drivers, because i only set two render states at end of frame which keep and restore depth bias, they are absolutely harmless and very fast. In test they are enabled like in 0.187 and all older mods, but in 0.188 are disabled. The question is why the hell disabled functionality even not used give better performance.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.187

I really dont know, either way no one else reported similar.. so most likely something my side that I have to figure out myself :>

Edit: Solved it :) 0.188 on download page works totaly fine when I turn off v-sync in enbseries,
I guess adaptive v-sync is going nuts on my 680 even if it is disabled in Nvidia Control Panel :>

Re: TES Skyrim 0.187

I don't know why, but for me turning off vsync in control panel do not have any affect on the game and it always on in all previous mods, performance is much lower in windowed mode, that's why made vsync control. Forgot, are you own sli? May be this also make the difference for 0.188.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.187

I should added my spec long ago will do after this post :>
I do have SLI, but I set Single GPU since I use TAA atm. I like the supersample effect it gives :)
Anyhow it is my 680s fault, they dont handle 20-30 fps well along with V-sync.
I have seen this in other games too, most games I wont notice cause im running SLI at 100-120fps. but if framerate gets pushed down to 20-30 with v-sync on,
trouble right away SLI or not (it´s like it enters a lower power mode or adaptive v-sync bugging out even thou it is not on).
Im not sure how other 6xx behave, I had alot Nvidia cards before but never a problem like this. When V-sync is off I can usualy just esc to a menu and let fps go really high, that seems to reset it (kinda forcing cards to run fast again). This is what I have to do now and then in Skyrim and when ignoreloadingscreen do not trigger for one load screen it provokes it cause framerate drop really low :>
So im very sure it is nothing wrong on your side ^^

Re: TES Skyrim 0.187

If nobody else could say anything bad about 0.188 version, i'll keep it code, so it's the last chance to report performance or other issues

Re: TES Skyrim 0.187

Boris
The fix didn't work for me on Win7 + 320.49 drivers. So back to 314.22.
Besides that, no difference compared to 0.187.
Given the fact I'm personally not interested at all in old SSAO code, hard to say anything else.
Whatever 0.186/7/8, performance improvements were really great overall.
After many tests, I've been able to see I was wrong about 0.187, over 1.0 scales are still effective.
But console menus / game interface / map are reacting MUCH faster with 0.187/0.188 than with 0.186 on high resolutions and/or extreme quality of SSAO. Good thing.

EDIT : absolute noob question warning  :
Is it possible to apply EInterior and ENightDay factors to effect.txt files as well ?.... (I know you know what I have in mind  )

Re: TES Skyrim 0.187

With the latest ENB version when I bring up the console using the tilde key and attempt to type in the console it is extremely choppy and freezy. I know it's the enb causing it as it does not occur when I pull the d3d9.dll file out of the Skyrim directory. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Try pulling up your console in game and type something in there and also use the backspace key to delete what you type in.

No, effect.txt is crossgame shader format.

Greeting pioneer and famous adventurer! But if you will read docs, life will be much simpler, because backspace key mapped to shader reloading. I wrote about that in news and config also have notice about backspace key.
