Re: TES Skyrim 0.198

How do I get the shader parameters to work correctly? I have a blank window where it shows the new shader parameters. Do I need to place enbeffect.fx file in a certain place now? Or does my fx file need to be a certain one, as I have many I cycle through on occasion to get a desired look. Any help is appreciated!!

Re: TES Skyrim 0.198

If you are refering to .fx GUI implementation you should have read my previous post where I said that I have done such files to illustrate how one can implement those features in the enbeffect.fx files.

You can find the files by following the link in my signature below, the one named ENB Resources thread and the files are located ath last page.

Or you can download a slightly updated version of one of those files here;
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/36720/?
The name for the file is NEW Beginner enbeffect.fx.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.198

Boris, it seems that the Creation Kit crashes whenever I try to load up an esp/esm. with the this new d3d9.dll. I get a ton of messages like:
TEXTURES: Texture Set missing texture textures\cubemaps\Oil_e.dds.
MASTERFILE: Warnings encountered loading property data for material object 'BurningTest' (000D61C3)
TEXTURES: Texture Set missing texture textures\cubemaps\Ore_Steel_e.dds.
TEXTURES: BASE meshes\Clutter\Statues\AltarOfMolagBal\AltarOfMolagBal01.nif : Spike02:0 is missing an environment map.
TEXTURES: Texture Set missing texture textures\cubemaps\Ore_Quicksilver_e.dds.
TEXTURES: BASE meshes\Architecture\Sovengarde\SovngardeInterior\SOVBenchHeadTable01.nif : SOVBenchHeadTable01:17 is missing an environment map...

and then the CK 'stops working'.

Renaming the .dll to something else causes the CK to load up normally.

I use the Injector version when playing Skyrim which uses enbseries.dll, so CK loads up fine without using the Wrapper version d3d9.dll which you had to rename it. Even when the Wrapper version worked with CK in the previous ENB, CK loaded very slowly. I don't have that problem anymore since CK is using the system d3d9.dll file.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.198

CTD after 10 minutes. No stutter. ForceBorderlessFullscreen works like a charm!

Beth's official HD texture pack DLC (minimum req 1.5 VRAM)
No other HD texture packs installed.

nVidia Geforce GTX660 2gb VRAM
uGridsToLoad=7 (gonna try with default 5)

[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=512 (Gonna try 256. Maybe my VRAM is too low for 512 reserved.)

Almost forgot, thank you so very much for the new shader control ^^

Thank you for putting me on track with the new system :)

im just curious Yersinia79

but any reason why you Design that whole World Look and Feel after your Avatars primary colors i mean you do this since the start trying to get this purple look i mean hehe ;)

Anyway it's wonderful and it shows the power of the system :)

@Boris
I cant get the latency in Helgen Keep as nicely under control as previously when i reached 1.6 GB Memory usage now with that 600 MB latency is a lot higher and fighting in that part of the interior level impossible. Even without the ReduceSystemMemorUsage= true latency is higher even with that 2.0 GB it uses then compared to the previous setup

Previously these 2 settings gave me very good latency without that much judder,stutter,frame hopping,frame drops

Low Latency Memory usage 1.5 GB

[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=false
DisableDriverMemoryManager=true
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=true

Best Latency Memory usage 1.5 GB

[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=false
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=true

in the fight scene that occurs @ this point

Latency is a heavy problem for me in this Camera Direction, everything behind this point is heavy in latency for me so the improvements the 2 previous settings gave me where extremely perceptible.

With the new settings the latency is bad here

High latency frame drops (fighting impossible) 600 MB

[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=512

High Latency frame drops (fighting impossible) 2 GB

[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=false
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=512

i tried to change the ReservedMemorySizeMb=512 but i couldn't get the latency and the whole fight under control anymore

i will try now first if certain engine setups can help improve this without loosing your low Memory usage Model first :)

Re: TES Skyrim 0.198

Boris

Would there be any way to add a bypass for ReservedMemorySizeMb ?
Sorry, I know all features aren't done yet, just asking.

Been doing several tests, on my both systems (GTX580 3GB and GTX690 4GB) :

ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=false
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false

Is what's working the best, stability wise and stuttering, performance wise.

But, whatever I tried :
ReservedMemorySizeMb=256
ReservedMemorySizeMb=512
ReservedMemorySizeMb=768
ReservedMemorySizeMb=1024

All of these introduced stuttering, 2sec freeze with the cam, loading freezes and such. This feature is a lot less good *on my system* than the previous .196 / .197.
Given the fact my SSAO scales are 1.0 and my Skyrim is heavily modded. uGrids=5 though, I stopped playing with this var since a long time now.

EDIT :
Did several tries again, happens that

ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=true
ReservedMemorySizeMb=1024

is working good, besides the fact I have 1 to 2 sec FPS drops (from 40 to 20 for example) when loading a new cell. But it's stable and smooth when camera panning.
326.19 beta driver BTW, will have a try with latest 326.41 as well.

cruelflames
I can't support Creation Kit, it is another application if it's own millions of bugs and multiple windows.

CruNcher
I will not do any fixes, if you not satisfied then don't use it, nothing comes for free. What you did to your game config and what mods installed, etc, etc, etc is not my problem, but it definetly work not right (or you want too much).

Oyama
Bypass of that parameter impossible, game will not work. I can add only different parameters to deeper control.

Anyway, it's very frustrating to listen complains, how in the fuck do you think i'll remove stuttering at cells loading huh? If game want to load 500 Mb of textures and meshes, how in the heck i'll accelerate this?????
