Re: TES Skyrim 0.198

Don't worry about complaints. It's often people who don't track your work and/or don't know how it works. Sometimes it can be people who try to help you improve the product, but doesn't express it well. So don't worry. You solved critical bugs in this game. Every Skyrim player say "Thank you" for this.

To my side, I tested thouroughtly for 2,5 whole days. No CTD anymore. The stuttering is minimal even with the ReduceMemory tweak. No graphical bug.
But I don't manage to solve my freeze problem. Of course it's a bug from Bethesda (it happens too on Xbox360 and PS3). when I say freeze, it's only the fact that the game freeze, but music is still here and I can do alt+tab and CTRL+ALT+DEL. The only thing I see is GPU activity changing from 99% to 0%. It's not your business to solve BugThesda mistakes, but if I had only one extra thing I would need in future version of ENB, it would be an anti-freeze fix.

For 64 bits, don't worry, there will be people to test for you. Nearly every player use 64 bits now. But on this forum, there are really hardcore gamers whose rigs are far more high-end than the majority.
The average for a gamer now is 8 gb of RAM with Windows 7 64 bits, a single GPU like Geforce GTX 660/670 with 1.5 to 2gb of VRAM and a Quad Core CPU.
3gb of VRAM and more really is a minority.

Deeper testing.
Played with some values in game inis.
I can proudly confirm that :

uGridsToLoad=5
uExterior Cell Buffer=36
uInterior Cell Buffer=18

and

uGridsToLoad=7
uExterior Cell Buffer=72
uInterior Cell Buffer=18

are equally stable with

ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=true
ReservedMemorySizeMb=1024

Indeed, first time since AGES (when Beth introduced the "memory optimizations" :lol: :lol: patches) I've been able to raise my uGrids again to 7 without CTDing like crazy.

I still have 1-2 sec freezes at heavy cell loads, but HELL, it's worth it !!
Bravo.
Far behind are the times when people complained with "ENB is only for screenshots" and all that bullshit !
It's beyond the graphic mod now.... I remember about Tatsudoshi with lots of emotion.... :D

Re: TES Skyrim 0.198

Maybe someon can give me a hint where this drop could come from in interior rendering im using normal ULTRA settings setup :)

Very obvious CPU brakes away (red line)

yep

i will try some of those hidden Multithreading settings maybe one gonna help this bottleneck situation (im somehow sure though that it has todo with Shadow Rendering and Light, especially shadow casting lights i think) :)

Mostly all scenes that follow this Portal have these Bottleneck issues some parts though run with normal latency (it just depends on how you stand in a certain direction to what i guess seems a light source, when i looking in that whole room or fight in that room i have no issues until i look @ this point of the room with the portal and everything behind it) until i reach outside rendering ;)

As you can see from the CPU spikes even in that portal corridor if you looking in a certain direction everything can be normal and if you looking somewhere else CPU brakes away again ;)

The screenshot you see their is the last CPU pooling so again broken away (on the low level) though GPU is @ full pressure

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/articles/1153//?

just tried some of those they improve performance a little but they seem to cause also interesting side effects

i never before saw that alduin would brake through the wall and then watch @ me not spying his fire and then fly away to return shortly after and spy his fire finally @ me crazy :D

Oyama it totally surprises me in my setup that everything up to this point runs smooth

but as soon as reaching that portal standing there where the first guy stands and looking in it's direction the whole rendering hell brakes lose (CPU brakes away), it's not logical though i can't explain yet really why but i wont give up finding it out ;)

Re: TES Skyrim 0.198

Oyama...

Yep I have an overclocked CPU ( 3770k --> 4.8ghz) :) Still raising shadows from 4096 is a huge hit.

Regardless I can live with shadows being lower res....however just looking at your flickr gallery makes me screaming with rage.....no amount of tweaking can get me even remotely close to the colorspace you have on your screens...even with Skyrim brightness lowered to the lowest level it's still to bright etc..........calibrated my display twice now.....guess will have to buy new monitor or something....that TN panel of mine (temporary one as my dell 3011 gave up smoke recently) just wont cut it.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.198

By the way....Oyama would you be willing to post some comparatibe screenshots of your various sunsprites? They are 60mb a pop, and just curious what's the real difference :)))

Boris sorry for off-topic.......all in all I'm one of your most devoted fans :) Just tested everything on ugrids=7, Ram peaked at 2.9gb VRAM usage at 5.1GB!!!! :D :))))

Still no CTD yet after an hour - THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Thank you my lord.... :))))

Take a look at what I've just posted in the TESV Gallery thread ;)

Re: TES Skyrim 0.198

Boris about the GUI feature it's a very welcome addition to the ENBSeries mod, so thanks for that. But what about grouping as it can quickly get messy in GUI window with a lot of commands in there.

If it's possible for the user to add custom groups similar to implementation method of adding GUI commands, I don't see why it should be left out if that is the case. However if it can only be pre-defined in the binary code and you have to create all the groups in there, I can see why you don't want to do it and I won't bother you with it anymore.

Also haven't noticed any downside with the new 0.198 and the improvements with it is great :)

Re: TES Skyrim 0.198

Why downsample doesn't work for me with this version?

I'm on a 1080p monitor, i tried to put 1440p on inis and this is what i get:

http://i.imgur.com/lqOJP4I.jpg

Those area around the red box comes with the screenshot i took..

I've already tried all combination of ForceBorderless and ForceBorderlessFullscreen but no luck.. I'm using enbeffect.fx and other fx form Boris except enbeffectprepass..
