Could you post some screenshot comparisons of Downsampling vs Standard Display Resolution? I'm interested in seeing what you can put out with your machine, as mine doesn't compare to yours.

I will not develop x64 version if it's impossible to run on my rig, it's development, not testing.

Look at my oldest shots first (1080p), then at the most recent ones (4K).
More consistency, more def, more.... everything. Nothing compares to 4K for final render.

Man this 0.198 works wonders compared to 0.197.

No more stutters with ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true and currently hitting 3051 MB VRam without crashes =]

Can finally play Skyrim without having to Fast Travel due to stutters =]

I downsample with an AMD card. Most of my screenshots (apart from my recent 0.198 test shots which were rendered at my monitors native resolution of 1920x1080) are downsampled from 2560x1440 resolution.

WOW 0.198 is simply amazing, running with the following settings

ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=true
ReservedMemorySizeMb=1024

My texture folder is now bulging to 12.4gb plus over 200 mods and it runs smooth as silk, no stutter, even after fast travel

Thank you for all your hard work Boris, really appreciate your continued work on this game

BTW would really like to see the improved shadows you were talking about, my CPU averages less than 25% usage for Skyrim (with 16k primary, 4k secondary shadows) so would be good to put that 75% to good use...!

Just played with the 0.198 version.

I don't know what I was expecting, but the results blew me away. I could reach the same quality as all previous versions, with a significant performance increase! I don't remember the numbers I had before, but there is no stuttering, and everything is as smooth as smooth can be.

Now, I guess I should try with the texture mods I have.

Used with Textures, still awesome performance, no issues except that I saw some distant cloud (The ones that float around mountains) in the morning seem to disappear with SSAO.

I'd have to look again though to be sure. I was too busy being astounded by the shaders on my weather mod to really care.

Guys, do you know anything about issues with fullscreen videos playback with MPC on GeForce GTX6xx videocards? I remember one post by user that in dynamic scenes when lighting changes very fast they have problems (only one guy on overclockers forum posted), but now i can't get rid of checkered background which looks like transparency background in image or video editors and it appear only when very fast moving of contrast objects or they blinking and starts looking transparent in that areas. Dxva disabled in options, tried dx9/dx7 renders and 2d and 3d surfaces both, no changes, only in windowed mode don't have this problem (KMPlayer work). I never saw issue with GF9600GT. Damn, i can't listen music with crappy realtek and now this.

Opposite to the real nerds in this thread :mrgreen: I run a totally overmodded Skyrim with some of the more demanding ENBs (Somber Unchained, Kountervibe, Unreal Cinema) on a rather mediocre setup.

Lenovo Y500 Laptop, 2x650M SLI, 8 GB Ram, and my Skyrim folder did not even fit on the SSD any more... ;-)

With 198 I have:
  • NO more CTDs (apart from faulty mods and script conflicts)
  • ALMOST no stuttering, at least nothing that would be related to ENB
  • ...and "playable" framerates without having to rely on some reduced "performance settings".
totally f'ing awesome.

I have read that religious content is not welcome on this board, but in my pantheon Boris is a freaking god right among the good old mead-drinking ones ;-)

P.S.: cell load stuttering btw is often related to the uExterior Cell Buffer setting, many folks have it on 32.
36 (with uGrids 5) works MUCH smoother for me.
