@tapioks, thanks for sharing the shader framework. From a quick comparison, I must say that I much prefer Lumasharpen over the Sharpening Ultra High Quality in the shader framework package, though. But then Lumasharpen is the first and so far the only sharpen filter I've ever really liked.

BTW, I've seen several posts about enb_reference being buggy. I've been using it since switching to ENB's Temporal AA and haven't noticed any bugginess (at least I think so). In what way is it buggy?

See my edit. I edited it into your quote as well.

That would make the most sense seems it would be per profile and may be because of the author, of which the author can then advise dependant on what software is running.

First port of call for troubleshooting then should be the author, seems it should be running from the proxy chain in enbseries.ini. This narrows down any troubleshooting for Boris from the average user and allows more complex troubleshooting to be resolved between Boris and authors who know what they are doing.

It can leave artifacts on screen. Very frequently (pretty much everytime I make an area transition) many of the textures go to ultra low quality (LOD maybe?) for a few seconds then switch back. TAA can also cause a sort of ghosting of the image. I haven't noticed the ghosting at all though since switching to 0.209 though and the texture issues seems less severe and fixes faster. In addition, this is especially noticeable using multiple weathers, when in a menu or using tfc 1 the weather effects just leave and the image colors change because the reference file loses the data. It works and it allows some of the best enb effects but it has these few bigs which I, personally, can live with.

I agree with what you just said completely, it points things to the author who is using proxy server.

Another option, and maybe this isn't how you want to do things, is say that, for ENBoost, 0.210 is the last binary and further updates will focus on the graphics element of ENB (if you're happy with the memory fixes as they are anyway). Then leave 0.210 up, leaving the link on ENBoost for the binary to that page only. Then when implementing 0.211 or further add it as an additional download and incorporate the warning as it looks like you're planning right now. This might keep the humandrillas using 0.210 and thus decrease the ability for them to break their games while still leaving options open to preset authors.

Is there anywhere else those files are posted? It might be nice for enb authors to know where to find those resoures. Maybe a thread in the effects section or something? Just a suggestion :)

So that's caused by enb_reference. I have that a lot - and that's why I wrote "at least I think so" as I thought it might be caused by something in the latest ENB Series. Guess I'll go back to Sweet FX for AA then - because it's quite jarring and immersion breaking. Thanks for the info!

Just one thing : Thank you Boris !

Tried 0.210 with a fully modded game. By optimizing shadows and textures (2048*2048 max), no ctd, no freezes, no bugs, nearly no stutter, smooth game ! Even in Skyrim intro !
It's the first time since I can actually play the game the way I like it !!!

Otherwise, the warning message is a good idea. But that doesn't dispense to port effects like lumasharpen.

You know... red warnings won't solve the "problem". Blocking proxies won't solve the "problem".

The "problem" is that ever since Boris posted ENBoost on the Nexus, ENB has been getting incredible attention. And now even people who don't want to graphically tweak with ENB want it for the memory stabilizing/reduction features.

Some people are using ENB for the first time, silly questions are bound to happen. Lots and lots and lots of silly questions, from people who know nothing about ENB, presets, coding, software, modding... NOOBS.

I've been using ENB since .108 and I only registered on the forums because the memory features were so good I wanted to give feedback and help out if I could. And I've never seen ENB be this popular and I've never seen Boris work so hard or be so stressed out. Used to be we had a new binary release every week, maybe less... now it's almost every day (sometimes more).

I'm loving the new features and all, but I'm afraid if Boris isn't able to handle this much stress.

The best way to reduce the noob questions is to not try to respond to everything and to release ENB more slowly and more discretely (not announce it on the Nexus, for example).

As it turns out, you can't even have the ATTK folder in the Skyrim directory, regardless of whether you're using it. I haven't used ATTK in half a year, but ENB simply wouldn't run because I had a specific folder present. That is ridiculous.

Other users have it right: Don't disable ENB because of certain detected software. Just post a warning that it exists, and there could be problems because of it. Simple enough. You're breaking a lot of people's games with this new feature, which is clearly a result of your unhandled stress from the broadening popularity of your awesome ENB software. Take a pill and sort it out in a more reasonable way.

meh.... Guess I'll be ok sticking with .209. I use SMAA because I like it better than the AA in ENB. I use the free ATTK from before he pulled his douche move and took it commercial (and got banned on nexus for it, IIRC) because it's a simple way to boost the priority of skyrim, which is all I use it for. Yes, I know I could write a batch file that does the same thing, but I'm a lazy git. And I use a memory cleaner, mainly for Firefox, since I see no good reason to reboot unless I've installed a kernel patch. Heck, the cleaner won't even do anything unless I manually trigger it. But that's just me... I'm one of those old school guys that thinks any OS that needs to be rebooted more than once a year or so is complete crap. And yes, I pine for the days of Novell and VAX, where reboots only happened every 2-3 years, or less.

I guess I'd only have 2 requests. One is that a full list of prohibited/banned/unsupported software be listed somewhere, since "crapware" isn't an actual product name so far as I'm aware, and second, that .209 be left up on the download page for those of us that won't be upgrading past that version.

Or was it the decision to just excommunicate anyone running any of this stuff? I'm not 100% sure which way that's going from reading the .210 download thread.
