Skyrim: UW-ENB

INTRODUCTION

This is my revised personal ENB configuration designed to give a cinematic fantasy feel to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It uses HD6's Custom Shaders, Matso's Depth of Field, Matso's Immersive Sun, & Mindflux's Darker Dungeons for ENB.

Nights & dungeons are darker than vanilla so pack a torch in your backpack or have Candlelight memorized. I don't see the point in having torches and magic light spells if they're never going to be put to use. There's some decent mods available to compliment the configuration so give them a try, you can find them listed below.

Shar's Deadly Torches

SM Drop Lit Torches

Dynamic Torches

New Thinner Torches

Candlelight Toggle

If you're new to ENB and wish to edit the ENB more to your personal taste then I reccommend checking out the Guide to ENB Series mods.

Other mods I also reccommend are:

Revamped Exterior Fog

Remove Ambient Fog

DOWNLOAD

You can download this ENB configuration from the Skyrim Nexus here.

Re: UW-ENB

Love the preset UW. I feel much more immersed in the game, especially at night. I can't really think of any errors that I came across while trying it out just now, of course I'll keep my eyes open. It's been a near flawless experience so far. I will mention though - and I could be completely wrong on this so correct me if I am - but can you change the fade time for DOF? Meaning, when I am focusing on something and then focus on something closer to me the DOF fades more slowly to the new focus point rather than instantly snapping to it. I personally would like a slower DOF fade to give it a little more of a cinematic/artistic feel. I'm sure I'll pop open the config file and find it right after I post this though.

Performance wise your preset ran pretty good for me. I've got a i5, 12gb ram and a gtx 570 which got be around 40-45 fps average. That is with SSAO disabled and all the other features enables.

My only other opinion is that the colors are a little too saturated at times for me but that is simply a personal opinion and a vibrant look isn't what you were going for with this preset I assume. Of course that's something I can try to tweak on my own time :] But again, I'm really liking your preset. Thanks for sharing it all with us, and thanks for having a stellar awesome summary of it and proving lots of helpful resources and links. More people need to do what you do.

Re: UW-ENB

ENB update: Increased bloom and daytime intensity a little. I also removed the film grain and letterbox effects from the main file and added them as optionals instead to give the user more control over their own experience.

May I suggest trying the updated version and see how that fares for you in regards to the saturation? I've posted some screenshots below (now added to the main post) so you can see what difference it makes in Whiterun as an example. While still colourful the increased brightness makes it seem a little more in place rather than dark and saturated as it was before (that kind of got on my nerves a little after a while, lol).

I'll look into fade time. For me it seems about right (I thought it was quite a smooth transition myself compared to some others I've tried) though I can appreciate others experiences may vary. If you find a setting that works for you though feel free to let me know and I'll check it out.

Lastly thankyou very much for your compliment. I'm glad it made someone elses experience that bit more enjoyable. Thankyou for your feedback aswell! :D

Re: UW-ENB

Yeah, the fade time on DOF is another matter of personal opinion. But anyways, excited that you've made colors a little more vibrant. I had some footage I had filmed with the earlier version of the preset and then compared it to the updated one and the colors were so much better. I had one of those "holy smokes" moments when the sun rose in Whiterun, I had to snap a few photos!

Re: UW-ENB

Correct me if I'm wrong UW, but I believe unreal is using bloodier combat and enhanced blood textures. Those are the two I use and I get the same results as UW's screen.

Re: UW-ENB

ENB update: Added Mindflux's Darker Dungeons for ENB which changes the lighting parameters of dungeons & interiors that use day lighting so that they use night lighting instead. Still a work in progress by him so will update as more dungeons/interiors are added to the mod.

Another update will be forthcoming. Want to find a nice balance between dark nights and playability. Also trying to reduce the amount of bloom I'm using while retaining colour balance and brightness, and intend to make all effects optionals instead of standard to give the user more control over their experience.

I'm using Enhanced Blood Textures but not Bloodier Combat (though you've given me something else to look into using now hehe).
