Re: TES Skyrim

While on the subject of OC'ing graphics cards (which I never did): ENB prevents the use of overlay programs such as EVGA Precision. What do you people use to overclock your cards while playing with an ENB config?

And a picture because it's a picture thread after all (testing Kyo's custom lumasharpen pattern 9 with an offset bias of 1.75):

Re: TES Skyrim

midhras;

I've experimented with Nvidia Inspector OC menu and it worked but as I mentioned it was an experiment and did not take time to do a bug run with it in Skyrim+ENB.

Re: TES Skyrim

I've always used MSI Afterburner and never had any problems with ENB at all.

All
Just, plain and simple, amazing shots.

Most of the time there's so much dust and dirt stuck inside the cooling design that blowing into the openings isn't sufficient.
Get a small screwdriver and disassemble the whole thing down to the PCB. Takes about 15 minutes and it should already be cooler by about 20°C.

yeah i wanted to avoid that i will do it after the test though and compare the state ;)

Btw some awesome Kernel Debuging on Nvidias Driver NVLDDMKM.SYS for those who are interested http://j00ru.vexillium.org/?p=1980#more-1980
What goes wrong, however, is that the driver fails to swap the “active” buffers in each iteration, and instead only does it for every second request. The specific reason of this phenomenon has not been established – lacking symbols, documentation or other debugging information for the graphics card driver makes it rather inconvenient to continue the analysis. As the problem only occurs for rapid cursor changes, it is clear that the issue is timing related (possibly a race condition); I suppose it might have to do with the v-sync mechanism, but that’s just a guess. One way or another, the bug causes the graphics card to sometimes render the wrong bitmap using the correct (for the iteration) mode; due to the fact that bitmaps present in the two frame buffers can use different data formats (16-bpp vs 32-bpp), the mismatch can thus lead to artifacts such as those presented in the video at top of the post.

Re: TES Skyrim

Wow, that's both amazing and pretty unique kaffeekranz. I'm not familiar with your work but I'll be hunting down your shots sometime. What's your nick on imgur?

And insomnia, the esthetic of your config is highly appealing to me. Don't hold back.

Great pics! Do you use reflections? I'm interested in the settings for the reflections you're using. That steel-axe in one of your images looks damn sexy!
