A memory manager for Fallout, even if it is a plugin/proxy would be much appreciated.
I agree that you're stuck with Skyrim too much,
but that is probably because i do not like Skyrim..hahah..
Anyway, i promise you that if you do happen to make a memory manager for Fallout, that i will donate 50 euro's to you.

I'm not working because of donations, what you said simply move development far away in time.

Donations are just donations and nothing else, ordering me something to develop is different story and price. Me and Alex Blade have enough gta users who propose from time to time "make <putanythinghere> and i'll give you 10$, if you will do job well" - ban immediately.

Re: ENBoost Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.203
I feel modding for games should stay free. Even if I could actually build a mod I'd never ask payment for it. It's a hobby for me. If I would put a price tag on the amount of hours I've poured into ENB tweaking... crazy.
I bet if you would offer custom ENB binary builds, there would be some customers, even at competitive prices.
At times I do wonder what is your main motivation though, Boris, as sometimes you don't even seem to enjoy it all that much.

Rarely i making mods by request for payment and don't think it's bad, user want - i do, not some abstract slave or family member. But mostly not as it's headache compared to normal programming and players don't have enough money for such things.

Boris makes decisions based on his effort and the viability based on the Engine Version and changes done on it you should accept his decisions when he doesn't backports something and not question them and trying to come with that capitalistic sense of provide and i give you something Boris is not driven by that

Re: ENBoost Fallout 3 / New Vegas 0.203
Obviously (I have a scientist's background, so I can relate), but I did start to wonder here and there as it seemed Boris sometimes didn't seem to have a lot of fun, and got a bit frustrated at some of the roadblocks.CruNcher wrote:The excitement to find a solution to a problem that maybe even is different from other existing solutions, learning and progressing and don't feel the heat to need to provide something but work really with fun on it no deadtimes
I'm never not accepting decisions, as it's not my software. I'm merely giving user input and feedback, and the occasional request or idea. I never try to bribe Boris into doing my bidding as I know very well that hiring someone with his skill-set professionally is beyond my or most people's means (with regard to personal gaming needs). Also, as I said, I don't think it fits with the whole modding attitude as it has evolved on the internet.CruNcher wrote:[...] you should accept his decisions when he doesn't backports something and not question them and trying to come with that capitalistic sense of provide and i give you something Boris is not driven by that
In fact, I've been asked twice if I would accept money to tweak around my ENB to someone's wishes. I've refused both times and explained those people how to do it themselves, and they did with success.
I don't mind the occasional little donation to show my appreciation after the fact. I hope you weren't suggesting I was trying to goad Boris into doing the things I want him to do. I'm always quite upfront about my requests. I tell Boris what I would like him to do, and he can very well tell me why he won't. That's his prerogative. And yeah, if I want something really bad I'm not scared to ask about it twice. (So Boris... TAA for Fallout? Nudge nudge. Memory manager? Wink?)
I think Marcurios' offer was meant to help get Boris over his resistance to do some boring work, and even if you don't like that sort of thing, I wouldn't judge it too harshly. I think it was intended as a friendly gesture. In fact, I don't get why people are so easily offended all the time. But that's just me.
My questions here are merely based on interest. Boris is a complex character to me, and that's putting it mildly. I'm trying to understand what drives the man a bit. I always hate the idea of the internet being a place where you just go to show off your thing to a void of unknown nobodies. No harm in that right?
(Edited for clarity, although I think I made a mess of this post.)
