Re: TES Skyrim 0.214
i've been messing w/ ugrids for over 10 months, and the BEST way to really stress it is using a mod that spawns extra stuff out in the wilderness. SkyTEST and Monster Mod are 2 that i've found stress things the most. mods that add lotsa actor in cities are not too bad. even large ones like Interesting NPCs. it's not too bad since it keeps most spawns to cities and interiors. Immersive Patrols can be tough since it spawns patrolling npcs. haven't tried any Civil War mods but bet they'd hurtENBSeries wrote:How can i get issues with high ugrid setting myself? May be i'm missing something, but grid=11 worked all the times i tried, except once about two weeks ago (just tried for luck and got problem), but whatever i do with any game mods, work fine and definetly it doing it's job by increasing world details.
oh, and Automatic Variants and mods that mess w/ animations (PC Exclusive Animations) tend to be tough on ugrids

Re: TES Skyrim 0.214
I have had good luck with 214. I have pretty clean INI files for skyrim as I don't tweak them beyond the basics needed for ENB and these two lines I add for grass in skyrim.ini:
iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=6
iMinGrassSize=40
Otherwise pretty vanilla. I don't like ugrids and don't use it, keep it at default. In the past I have run into problems with running Somber ENB at UQ with x2 downsamling (3840 x 2160). I could get other ENB's to load (they weren't as demanding) but Somber would crash it or cause infinite loading screens. With 214 and some adjustments to memory settings (ENB) it finally loaded. Even got 15-18 fps outdoors. Was very stable considering the stress on the system. I mainly have texture mods as my goal is graphic beauty and quality.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.214
Forget messing with uGrids if you have scripted mods running, that add a lot of actors, battles, more spawning animals, patrols, roaming NPCs, etc.
Without all those, I can push my uGrids quite a bit, but with my normal configuration I get instant crash on 9 and on 7 game usually just freezes after a while - with or without cell stabilizer plugin.
So I happily stay on 5 for actually playing the game, gameplay improvement beats distant view - and have a separate profile in Mod Organizer with only texture packs so I can take nice landscape screenshots at uGrids 9

Re: TES Skyrim 0.214
Tested 0.214 for several hours with a heavily modded game and Unreal Cinema ENB (and a little Somber ENB Sepia).
No CTD, rare infinite freezes when entering places (just after the autosave) and few stuttering when turning cam (that's why an optimized motion blur could be useful). The SKSE patch that stabilizes cells seemed to fix the remaining infinite freezes discribed above.
Seems to be a great job !
Edit : the SKSE patch fixed nothing in fact.
Had a freeze in Tundra near Whiterun during a battle.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.214
If someone could give me a surefire way to reproduce the infinite loading screen that would be great.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.214
I don't know about a sure way to reproduce the infinite loading screen, but I can tell you what I did to produce it:
uExterior Cell Buffer=64
uGridsToLoad=7
ENB v0.214
enbseries.ini
enblocal.ini
Loaded a previously stable save I made with ugrids at 5, just across the harbor from Solitude (outside).
Active Mod Files
Tested both with and without the SKSE ugrids patch, same result: Infinite load. Switch back to ugrids 5, and it loads right up no problem. Also, no HD activity during the infinite loading. As you can see, no real script or object intensive mods; mostly just texture and mesh replacements.
EDIT: As for ENB v0.214, it is running well in the limited testing I have done tonight; just as well as v0.213 from what I can tell. I don't really care about ugrids above 5, though stable 7 would be nice.

From what I can tell the infinite loading is caused by 2 threads waiting on each other.

How's about actually posting the skyrim.ini and skyrimpref.ini files that you recommend and are using and recommend for testing purposes.ENBSeries wrote:

It's differencies in skyrim.ini and skyrimprefs.ini, mostly. I'm f* tired to listen complains from users who modified their files by crazy tutorials or themselves, so hard to find objective tester. Here are some appear from time to time, but now they seems won't do tests.
Going as far as a standard mod-load-order too.
No good whinging about it, you haven't pinned any information on how you want feed back. You have a forum, use it! Make a pinned-post on exactly how you want people to test your game and if they deviate from your parameters (which is fine) have them list their differences before posting. Then you will have more objective responses.
(as a user, I find it equal frustrating to have all this subjective observations to deduce issues from, but standardizing things you will help me too.)

Re: TES Skyrim 0.214
I think my loader-order is close to busting because I can get an infinite load screen if I install almost anything that adds actors/new textures. like 3DNPC.esp, northern ecounters or whatever. BUT I have no idea if its the extra scripts added by that one-mod-too-many, or the new actors spawned or the new textures spawned with the actors.Mookeylama wrote:i've been messing w/ ugrids for over 10 months, and the BEST way to really stress it is using a mod that spawns extra stuff out in the wilderness.
