Re: GTA San Andreas 0.158
Mod don't have any hidden features. And GTASA version is no longer developed, thanks to users.

Re: GTA San Andreas 0.158
Hi Boris,
A couple quick questions on ENB 158 for San Andreas. I know it is no longer in development, but maybe my questions are easy to answer:
1) How can I manipulate the reflective bump parameters / temp values? I can open the interface with Shift-Enter, but holding 1-6 with PgUp or PgDn does nothing with this version of ENB?
2) Most objects in the game seem to be significantly darkened, regardless of Color Correction settings. For example:
WITH ENB:
WITHOUT ENB:
\
Notice how the roads / buildings / sidewalks are all much darker? Some objects (trees, plants, grass) do NOT seem to be affected by the darkening. This happens even with ALL effects disabled, no palette texture enabled, all color correction curves and other varialbes at '0'. Is this hard-coded and intentional, or am I missing sometihng? Just would love to be able to manage the overall color correction with the ENB parameters, but i cannot seem to get rid of this darkening...
Thanks as always for taking the time to help

Re: GTA San Andreas 0.158
Don't remember almost anything. Darker perhaps because of reflective bump, effect not finished and when i tried to delete it, users complained that they like it, so the result is actually what they wanted. Parameters linked to keys modify something, but what exactly, don't know, read description to old versions, f.e. 0.075c3

Hi Boris,
Thanks for the reply. The documentation for 0.0753c reads the same as other versions:
As for the preferences of other users .... argh! Such idiots. I mean, I am no expert, but I see some of the most popular GTA SA configs have absurd values:
What the fuck?
Huh?? It's not an on/off toggle...
Ummm.... hello?
Oh dear....
Thanks for the reply. The documentation for 0.0753c reads the same as other versions:
This works with other versions of ENB, but not with 0.158...? I can edit the values manually in enbseries.ini with alt-tab... but it is very tediousPress shift
and enter keys together to show control parameters that can be modified by 1..6 keys
with PageUp and PageDown.
As for the preferences of other users .... argh! Such idiots. I mean, I am no expert, but I see some of the most popular GTA SA configs have absurd values:
Code: Select all
BloomPowerDay=-100
BloomConstantDay=-1000
Code: Select all
DepthBias=1
Code: Select all
BloomScreenLevelDay=15
BloomScreenLevelNight=15
Code: Select all
DarkeningAmountDay=-50

Re: GTA San Andreas 0.158
May be i did variables in GUI? Temporary values are the same for all mods, i'm using them only for debugging purposes to tweak shader variables by "hand".
Don't know, may be sometime will do update to gtasa version, i'd like to see first how far will move other coders who working on similar mods for this game, don't want to break their work and to bother myself too.

Re: GTA San Andreas 0.158
Hi Boris,
Ok, you were right that the Reflective Bump effect causes the 'darkness'. I was able to use the 'TempF1' etc parameters within enbseries.ini to configure this effect nicely, but I cannot get rid of the 'dark'. The keyboard shortcuts do not work (i.e. Shift-Enter, then hold 1-6 with PgUp / PgDn), but the values from the .ini are displayed when I hit Shift-Enter.
Actually, I noticed something else too with 0.158 --- none of the daytime settings work!!! For Color Correction, Bloom etc, it is ALWAYS using night time variables, even if I set ScreenLevelDay=10 and ScreenLevelNight=5, it always uses 100% night settings, 0% day settings.
If JUST THIS could be fixed, that would be SUPER DUPER! This way I could use daytime curve and saturation to compensate for the 'darkness' of the Env Bump effect. Right now I can only the same bloom / curve / saturation levels for day AND night... not very flexible.
Without working DAY / NIGHT ... I don't think ANYONE can make a good preset...??
Would it be easy to restore the Daytime parameter functionality to ENB 0.158? Pleeeeease?????
I think I can make a really nice, balanced config that actually 'makes sense' for GTA SA...
P.S. Who else is doing 'similar mods' for this game?

Re: GTA San Andreas 0.158
That looks kinda cool, not sure when it will be out?
In any case, it would be great to have one final 'working' version of ENB for San Andreas. I think if the Day/Night parameters area fixed in 0.158, that would be fantastic.
If somehow the 'darkening' from the Reflective Bump effect could also be addressed, that would be like icing on the cake ^_^

Re: GTA San Andreas 0.158
Sorry, but old versions differ very much from modern, not simple task to find bug if i don't remember what is where. Don't waste your time on it, look at my facebook page, GTASA players mostly have very poor pc (or it's City_Puke) and they play only in SA-MP, which don't work with enbseries properly. Now absolutely different hardware, much faster and with lot of vram, modding of such old games must have changes accordingly, you will not get much from just tweaking of GTASA version effects. I tried several times to make updates to GTA, absolutely no reaction.

Re: GTA San Andreas 0.158
A modern ENB for GTA SA would be super amazing
I know you say you don't get much 'audience reaction' when you make updates to ENB for GTA SA ... but you should do it anyway because the GAME deserves it! Now is just my first time playing, and it is such a fun game compared to GTA IV etc...
I understand it is not fun to find an old bug (like finding a needle in a haystack, as they say). But anyway, if you find it interesting yourself at all to somehow fix the day / night or even to make a modern ENB for GTA SA, I'm sure at least people here in the forums will take some interest. Given the right tools, the game could look pretty amazing....
I don't care about the users who just want extreme bloom and AO and are playing SAMP and whatever; I just enjoy playing the game and I really enjoy playing with ENB to get the most out of it.
Anyway, you have just said you won't do another GTA SA update ... but please do it anyway! haha!
Ok, I'll go play the game and will just be happy with 0.158 for now
