Re: TES Skyrim 0.218

Currently working on Skyrim character textures so could you explain what is needed to be done to make better use of the SSS parameters?

Re: TES Skyrim 0.218

I'm not sure yet if will do support of sss textures, so no sense to make them now. Visualising such textures for all objects give awful results and this can't be fixed easily, no way to apply textures to individual objects, only to use for all or not to use at all. May be alpha channel of them can be used to detect is it proper texture or not, but then all data from alpha will be lost, i thought to use it to control one of sss variables. Authors of bodies must do changes, as they don't care, i don't want to do extra job.

I was wondering as a last request from me, is there anything you can do about the hair? It's common diffuse lighting stands out on a beautifully lit body. I know some good combinations of lighting models that make hair look good, like a Minnaert diffuse term with an Ashikhmin-Shirley specular term; and again, I don't know what you can do with skyrim, just trying to make some suggestions as a fellow graphics programmer.

The arms look like the the ones from the bad guy in iron man 3.

The candle light effect in body is already done with active magic effects?

Candle, not candle light! Wax is very noticable sss dependent thing.

I did test version with visualize sss textures for objects which use it, unp seems have diffuse color for that purposes. Press F11 to disable this visualisation. And of course this is slower and not for playing purposes. Attached to this post.

And here the screenshots of vanilla models and textures, even as sss maps they more or less fit (but very wrong actually), but artifacts are horrible. White includes too.

I laugh from this guy, animated looks very funny

Boris
Given the new SSS has a Quality parameter, is there any substantial FPS loss when enabling SSS? Edit: NVM. No FPS hit what I can see.
And what is different with SSS if quality is 2 compared to 0?

Edit: SSS looks good so far. Haven't tweaked it, just tested it...

Re: TES Skyrim 0.218

On the right side it is the regular 0.218, left side one is the test dll which is bugging at my side, the texture gets fixed to the camera, when I move the camera the texture moves with, it doesn't apply over the body, it gets fixed to the center of the screen.

Read description, damn it! Quality not working now.

KuroTenshi
This is not test, i don't need results, it's version which show how shitty mods are without proper sss textures, no sense to develop anything for them as it's unfixable on practice.

I forgot one thing, sorry, download attached version.

I really starting to think that better to determine somehow if sss texture was specially adopted to work, but at same time every other mod will broke it, there is no chance. Replaced face - bug. Replaced armor - bug. Replaced cloth - bug.

We can talk to certain texture makers that are serious. Cabal120 for armors and weapons, Brumbek (SMIM) for clutter. I saw too a person here that created a body mod which seems more respectful to standards.

You can create a new standard, as ENB is already a standard ^^
