Re: TES Skyrim 0.221

I guess Bethesda never cared about this du to their lighting not be as efficient so anyone would ever realize it but with ENB we are in a complete different situation due to it's higher precision

and i really wonder why Bethesda dissconnects head and body is it because of the dismembering effect i saw in screenshots i never killed someone beheading him but im not sure if it is @ the exact line of the neck either wasn't it way more above it i guess so woudl be strane else you would chop of half of the chars shoulder parts with it ?
Or is this disconnection maybe a Facegen Requirement ?

My face mods might look too unrealistically smooth, but I'm playing Skyrim for fantasy not realistic.

@ far away camera distances it wont make a big difference anyways in terms of skin complexion @ least from normalmaps pov but the face texture itself can be important for the overall look @ wide FOVs
But in reality it is the same if you see a person from far away you wont hardly see his/her face complexion (depends also on your eyes strength and light conditions), you will recognize though the shape (morph) and it's base texture definition.

Real good faces are only important for Conversation situations, though getting a face that works in both in a more real way is ultimately hard :)
The Engines different FOVs can yield crazy results on face shape structures also the light plays a major role in everything.

I mean you can have 2 completely different persons depending on your camera point and this is far away of how our real life perception of human works.

Im really a fan of Hyperrealism and Dirk Dzimirsky ;)

In those regards your results are way to dolly they can blend the perception and might look kawai for some but they are way to far off into artificialness for me personally

@Boris
For humans -
SG Female Texture Renewal - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/35267/?
I use this one for long time. Available for all body model types. And does not look bad with ENB effects.

For elves search Ethereal Elven Overhaul.

I agree 100% with above. Here's the Ethereal Elven Overhaul link: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/24273/?

For males there are quite a few different options on this page for Better Males: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/2488/?
Also this might be something to look at: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26145/?

For male faces I use DCE - Realistic Male Face by drumber: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/38301/?

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I use Women of Skyrim Normal Maps as well: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20483/?

Whatever i try, it's ugly degenerative look, horrible nose, eyes, lips, bugs in models which can be seen under some angles. I hate games with customizable characters because they are always bad comparable to properly modelled main character.
After much effort and experimentation, I ended up using different texture types from different mods for my female character:

Race: Nord
Body: UNP
Diffuse: Mature Skin
Normal: Women of Skyrim (face), Athletic muscle map from xs2reality; blended with UNP texture blender to remove neck seam
Specular: Dry Skin by SvarogNL
Skin (_sk): SG Female Textures Renewal that everyone else seems to like

SG was the only skin texture package that had an _sk card that wasn't a solid color, though I'm sure it isn't perfect. Only the normal maps presented me with neck seam issues and they went away after I used the texture blender on the normals. SG Textures is a fine set of textures, but it never looked good on my character design.

I also have to agree with the above. I have not been using SG Female Texture Renewal for long (mostly just experimentation/comparison with other textures), but it is a superb female body texture. A bit more realistic and natural than the default UNP skins. Not quite as beautiful as Coverwomen from a face perspective, but still excellent. Here are some examples of SG Female Renewal with and without SSS:

Another one you might want to try, although it is still a WIP, is "Real Girls Realistic Body Texture for UNP UNPB and SeveNBase - WIP". So far, it is my personal favorite. Haven't yet tested it with SSS, but here is a non-SSS screenshot with Real Girls (I lost this edit to a CTD, so I'll have to recreate some comparison screens when I get an SSS version going):

Another nice thing about Real Girls is it has an 8192 pixel texture for those who want unparalleled quality. I have that downloaded, have not yet tried it. Another nice thing about this texture is it is a work in progress, which should mean it should be easier to get the author to build better SSS maps for ENB! :)

Re: TES Skyrim 0.221

Folks, just textures are not enough. Body models have awful hands (is it so hard to add extra 1000-3000 vertices?), lips of hemorrhoidal former pornostar, horrible nose (men models have much better nose as nobody care if it ugly or not) like any other 100+ games with customizable characters.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.221

Most of those problems stem from the facegen morphs I guess.
Nuska had a couple of replacements, like the ones he used in his Elven Overhaul Mod, so those might be worth trying.
Also there were hand replacements for UNP if I remember correctly.

I think though that noses are generally the weakest link and for me it doesn't matter whether male, or female - they're all terrible.
I'd also advise you to use 'RaceMenu' and 'Chargen Extension' for a couple of extra morph options and warpaint blending, but this would require using SKSE and iirc you can't.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.221

My favorite UNP set is Alt Navatsea UNP Seamless, but I also use Xenius Detailed Lips and some other replacers. Anyway, it's also a question of consistency IMO, i.e. the textures must blend in and seem to fit in the game world. So "more hi res" and "sharper" doesn't always equal better IMO. One example is High Res Face Maps for Men by Genox, which looks excellent at close range in themselves, but doesn't work as well when seen from longer ranges plus they don't blend in well with the world. Just my 2c.
