Re: Skyrim mods/tweaks recommendations

No, there is no way to makr any memory as ram for the game, it's simply impossible for 32 bit applications. I wrote about solution and it's the only one possible.

As far as I know only 64bit applications can use more than 4GB, or something like that. Also I'm not sure how VRAM on video cards factors into this, is VRAM limited to 4GB as well, and it is 4GB of system ram, and 4GB of VRAM, or 4GB of ANY RAM total...Boris would know for sure!

I would have to say that system ram and video ram are separate. I have 6gb video ram and Skyrim uses 4gb of system ram. i have used more than 4gb of my video ram at times without crashing. Hopefully this clarifies any previous confusion.

Re: Skyrim mods/tweaks recommendations

The Sounds of Skyrim mod has been uploaded on Nexus again. This version apparently does not corrupt your saves.
And the mod really helps the immersion. :)
Comes in 3 categories: The wilds, The dungeons and Civilization.

For skyrim and most pc games ram and videoram have near same usage, only at high resolution, antialiasing or with my mod video memory usage greater than system memory usage, in skyrim.

Re: Skyrim mods/tweaks recommendations

People has been asking for a particular type of grass mod. It's Mindflux who made this fantastic HQ grass mod a while back. He was kind enough to give me the mod. Wish he'd do more of his great mods!
Here it is:

Re: Skyrim mods/tweaks recommendations

I found this lens dirt texture on a site for Crysis mods, so this texture is not my own. You can find the original thread here.
Save it, and re-name it to enblensmask.png.

Another texture... This is from http://www.gamedev.net/topic/620699-bf3-lens-flares/

This is something that will be done at the hardware level on the new Nvidia Maxwell GPU's. They will be able to use sys ram as vid ram and vice versa..
