Re: TES Skyrim 0.228

.228 prevents Skyrim from loading for me as well. I have an old AMD card (4890) and I know they're no longer supported in ENB, so I'm not really here to bitch. I see that other people were having the same problem, so I thought I'd ask:

evok99 and nonamejuju, what cards are you using?

.227 was working nicely for me. I always use the wrapper versions.

Hd 6870 with an i7 720 here, and W8 64bit.

Wrapper version too.

As i understand, if theres no sunlight, there are no caustics.
I was not speaking about caustics, but about reflection amounts, and maybe some other things Boris could have in mind, wich might be DNI split-able ;)

Re: TES Skyrim 0.228

Well, good to know it's not that I simply have an obsolete card. I also tried the injector version, and I get incrementally further -- the Skyrim symbol flashes for half a second, then an immediate CTD. Still no 'Rim with 228.

The water screenshots looked effing gorgeous! :o WANT.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.228

@Boris
Im not sure where these issues come from but for now d3d9.dll is very stable also with the new Nvidia WHQL (i will do a more indeepth render compare later but so far i saw no issues with the new WHQL driver) only problems i experience in stability currently with 1.8
are ALT-TAB if you do this in a specific amount of time no problem but if you leave the Render state for a longer time it's pretty hard to recover after some time back and it mostly freezes then, especially when multitasking based on Vram (Browsing with Firefox).
Another issue im looking into are crashes after Dieing if my character dies and it auto loads the last savepoint the rendering after it freezes as well (need todo still several tests with gui open and closed), no problem when loading the autosave state manually interrupting the automatic load procedure after Dieing.

But so far no Savegame Load Crash with the wrapper, saved me a lot of time, especially as i push the 460 GTX 1GB really to it's limits with this Workflow :)

Im preparing a multi installation of Skyrim now 1.8 and 1.9 side by side todo comparisons (in different modding stages) (needs some batch process preparation, 1 click Engine change), especially the changes in the NPC part of the Engine.

Especially im absolutely amazed how smooth everything works in Realtime even with Framerates as low as 10 FPS shown by the GUI, i guess this is really some Magic that Microsoft did in their Render Pipeline (latency optimizations, frame drop reduction) changing from NT 5 to NT 6 (maybe some clever Realtime Interpolation as well ?) and of course your awesome optimization work on this Engine :)

Graphic mod ENBSeries / patch ENBoost 0.228

Added caustics and one more parameter for frennel factor, because saw that Pure Waters do changes which don't allow frennel multiplier to work (guess zero values). Also found that sky lighting look wrong on water when ambient occlusion not enabled, fixed. Aurora borealis distortion in reflections from camera scrolling not fixed yet (i don't want to, lazy).
Did a lot of experiments with caustics, not an easy to generate good looking and fast from textures of water. Apply sun direction factor of their projection was wrong idea, because it's buggy without some data not available in shaders, so effect just projected from top to bottom.
any download for enb? cant find it. sorry im newbie here.

Water have always the same properties and it depends only from wind or water substance itself, so dni separation not required (i did many similar controls already and this makes me sad).

evok99
Then you need to test each version starting from 0.221 to latest and find "edge", then i'll make custom builds to find specific changes not working for you. And do you mean 0.221 work fine right now or you don't have it?

nonamejuju
Goliatron
Ok, i can build several test, but I CAN'T HELP WITHOUT HARDWARE, because it's because of modified shaders, only they compiled at start, so mod won't work. I can't by trial end errors remotely find out which part of the shader won't work on amd, it's 50 kb of code. Try older drivers, various, then report if they work or not (it's important for me).

CruNcher
I don't have alt+tab issue and don't see anyone else have it, so nothing to fix.

Boris
Just for information, some of K ENB users running AMD w/ latest drivers reported crashes @ startup with 0.228 binary.
Nvidia users, no issues at all.
Still the same old story.
