Thanks a lot for your answer!!
Oops, silly me, the grid is EnableShadowNoise=true? ... I should have known. I thought it might be an AMD problem as well. Bloody layman here, sorry
The Dawnstar gravel location is just a close-up of the gravel next to the water, from where my character is standing in the "water+landscape" shots. If you look closely, you can see the depth and shadowing differences on the gravel between v0.240 and v0.243 on those overview shots with the longboat, too, around my character. In the "water+landscape" overview shots with the longboat v0.243 rev 4 Jan 2014 you can also notice the gravel got darker in comparison to the other binaries.

Found it. Version 0.240 (very first of it) do not differ from 0.243 latest for me (but i don't have any mods installed, which modify textures or meshes). Are you sure it's not because of shadows from clouds?

Re: TES Skyrim 0.243
One more thing, can you turn off some effects to find out which produce issue with darker gravel and in which version first?

Re: TES Skyrim 0.243
Hmm, I guess it's not from the cloud shadows, since I deactivated them completely for better comparison. I have two parameters in my enseries.ini, EnableCloudsShadow=false for v0.240 and EnableCloudShadows=false for v0.243.
My mods... phew, I have QUITE a lot installed. I will try and figure out which texture mod it is exactly that changes the gravel on Dawnstar coast for me, but I'm pretty sure it has parallax. Might be Vivid Landscapes - Rocking Stones and Mountains Parallax - All in One 2k CLASSIC GREY. I set it after Realistic Water Two in Mod Organizer to overwrite its files.
IIRC the snow looks different between v0.240 and v0.243 as well. v0.240 was not that flat.
Testing parallax on Whiterun pavement however I definitely noticed a height and look difference between ENB on and off in v0.243, so I guess parallax basically working, at least in that Whiterun area. Hmm...
Okay, let me see with the darker gravel...

Re: TES Skyrim 0.243
From difference between latest build and 0.240 i don't see what could be wrong, so find any dependency of darkness from effects, hope this will give me right direction (testing all builds is worse way).

OK, so after extensive testing:
Test of darker areas with v0.243 rev 4 Jan 2014
(I tested parameters even when they appeared totally unrelated or nonsensical re problem solving to me.
Since I don't know how things work in detail and how parameters are connected with each other in the program code, I did it that way.)

New issues:
And I'm sorry to tell but I encountered some more problem areas
Have a look at that, in Riverwood next to the sawmill... (see link to album below)
Rocks/gravel in Riverwood also flattened with v0.243 rev 2 Jan 2014 as well as v0.243 rev 4 Jan 2014 binaries, worse shadowing.
On top of that, I noticed a sharp border of dark and bright textures in Riverwood with v0.243 rev 4 Jan 2014, but NOT with v0.243 rev 2 Jan 2014 (as with darker gravel/rocks in Dawnstar only in v0.243 rev 4 Jan 2014, but not in v0.243 rev 2 Jan 2014).
Again occurs with both ENB enabled as well as disabled (via Shift+F12)!
Rollback to v0.240 means everything is fine again, both with ENB activated and deactivated (via Shift+F12).
I'll try to search for more areas with problems tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
I also tried to test the problem areas with ENB completely deleted from my Skyrim folder, but alas I get CTDs immediately after loading a save.
So I tried it with only ENBoost. v0.243 rev 4 Jan 2014 still complete in my Skyrim folder.
UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true
Tadah, problem areas gone, everything back to normal. No dark areas, no flat and not correctly shadowed gravel/rocks anymore.
Now how about that? So it must be the activated ENB, even when deactivated (that sounds weird!).
Speaking in absolute layman's terms, it seems to me something is altered in Skyrim's native shaders by the new binaries (v0.241 & up: flat looking gravel/rocks without shadowing, wrong shadows; v0.243 rev 4 Jan 2014 additionally: areas became darker) that is independent from whether ENB UseEffect=true or =false, but dependent from whether or not ENB is present and UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=false, since it also occurs in Vanilla after turning ENB off.
The binary is always loaded when it's present in Skyrim game folder, as I understand.
Don't know if I already mentioned it, but I didn't change anything in my mod list when doing all the comparison screenshots, as well as everything else was the same, EXCEPT the ENB binary d3d9.dll, which was the only variable when testing.
Here is the album with the pictures, each pic has descriptions which ENB binary and where the shot was taken.

Oh, and forgot to mention, no snow change between 0.240 and 0.243, seems everything is fine.

Thanks, that explains it.kaffeekranz wrote:Let's try to wrap this up.
As far as I understand the ENB water effects for the interior water volumes have been disabled a few versions back. Intentionally.
There's a bug in the vanilla implementation of water in the temple of Kynaresh obviously, but it's not the ENB's fault.

Anyone know what can cause this odd graphical glitch where suddenly colorful triangles flicker on my screen and my game crashes? It happened after I installed the latest version.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.243
Either you've overclocked your graphics card too much (ENB is very demanding on it) or you may have this mod installed:Pyrobunta wrote:Anyone know what can cause this odd graphical glitch where suddenly colorful triangles flicker on my screen and my game crashes? Safety Load http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46465/?
This is known to cause graphic glitches - if so try the mod author's solution:
If you have any problem after Installation (CTD when open menu, get more CTD or freeze, graphical glitch etc.), please try:
"EnableOnlyLoading = true" in data/SKSE/Plugins/SafetyLoad.ini.
This means that it can not block game freezing during play except loading screen.
If you still got problems after setting .ini, you cannot use this mod... Sorry.
Hope this helps
