Game recommandations/"Watch out for"

Thought I would start a thread, that is a bit off topic from the ENBSeries but perhaps some users might find good to have.

A thread for recommending games that is fun to play for whatever reason you find it enjoyable. New or old doesn't really matter anything goes here, that does not go against Boris/ENBSeries site rules of course.
Or just posting info about up coming games that looks to be a fun game to play when released.

So I want to start with a "Watch out for" game;

Lichdom
Official game site - http://www.lichdom.com/ageverify.html
Now I haven't done much reading up on this game yet but from the trailers that are around it does look to be the "next" game to play that will replace Skyrim gaming for me,
even though I haven't really played the Skyrim game for a long time. Lichdom seems to have the things I initally liked about Skyrim in terms of gameplay and as it's using
CryEngine I don't think I will find it to be irritating with all of it's bugs and Game Engine limitations as I have so far done with the Creation Engine and Skyrim.

I will add some released game recommendations later on, but now it's time to open another beer and celebrate the new year that is upon us.

Have a good New Year everyone :)

Get Even
looks very thrilling. some kind of thriller horror type. was stated for release in 2015... :cry:

can't wait for this!

Alien Isolation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xnqk12RWWUY#t=41
i'm a big fan of the Aliens Chronicles. last Alien game wasn't so great. this took a different route. its half way between Dead Space with a xenomorph. just the one lurking in the abandoned ship. you and It!

Dying Light
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2TSCZqcjR0
Its Dead Island meets Dead Rising.

Project Cars
its probably not a game that i can fully experienced... so won't be playing. the set up they had running was mind blowing. 3 x 4K monitors (11520 x 2160 resolution!), Quad SLI Titans...

Re: Game recommandations/"Watch out for"

Thanks for the contribution Ohkay :)

I've been anticipating the release of the Project CARS for quite some time now as it both looks great (Now that is true HD quality and not "Nexus HD" quality :lol:) and from the gameplay beta test reviewers the physics seems to be very realistic compared to most current released games.

The Alien Isolation seemed very interesting been a long time since I've seen a good horror game, F.E.A.R 1 was propably the last game I actually played where I got spooked and found it a bit scary to continue forward in the game. The fact that I was sitting out in the dark night (A bunch of buddies and I had a LAN party and this was when F.E.A.R was new) with just a roof over me during the summer with animals around in the woods added to the fear factor though.

How about Kingdom Come: Deliverance from Warhorse Studios (an independent game development studio based in Prague ), its use Cryengine 3 my favorite game engine.

Teaser Trailer

Very short Gameplay Trailer

I wanted something similar to warband, but with better graphics, and this game seems to be what i'm looking for. Besides, I made a few good maps with the Cryengine SDK last year (and a few others things), and maybe I could recycle those for this game.

Yeah "Get Even" looks interesting. Even if it's not really my genre.

Probably most people already know this, but i want to throw in the kickstarter project "Star Citizen". It's by Chris Robert, the guy who made "Wing Commander" and uses the Cryengine 3. It's going to be an MMO without subscription fee (i hope that's the right term). They have already collected over 36 Mio. $ . Take a look at the website and one of the trailers:

--JawZ--
can't remember if it's FEAR2 or 3 that i actually clocked, one of only a handful of games i ever clocked in my existent!! (the one where at the end, a glimpse of that girl, she's pregnant) but my most terrifying game that i ever played was Dead Space 1. first time booting it up, i was gripped to my chair, nearly sweat bricks seeing that thing getting at you upon putting like half a dozen bullets in it. i was never got around to it to play it more, sadly since i have no desire to touched my xbox360 again...

Project CARS, yeah real 4k gaming, all the pics they've posted weekly, was very amazed the the level of details. i too a big fan of racing games, but more of an arcadie racers like Burnout, NFS, Grid ect... real simulation driving, for me it's like watching Michael Schumacher playing soccer (or football in other parts of the world) but yeah if it can deliver like those amazing pics, its going to be one great of a game.

Lhodrik
looks interesting but i'm never got into Total Wars and the a likes. thats what this game remind me of.

WoodsOfYpres
first time i saw that, i thought it was filmed but after watching little bit further, it was computer generated. incredible i thought. gotta put that on my game to get list, probably will never play it past level three if my current interest are like. i'm still on level 1 in Skyrim!! ah, Wing Commander, played on the Super Nintendo many, many moons ago. i gotta look into these Cry engine 3 games that i keep hearing about...

Re: Game recommandations/"Watch out for"

That rendering effect has been around for quite some time. And the reason why it isn't in many games is the same as with the PhysX feature. More work to be done for something most users won't even run with or can run with, mostly just high end machines and "nit-picking" users will can run that.

Re: Game recommandations/"Watch out for"

OhKay;

I have Dead Space 2 but I guess I will have to take a closer look at it and also it's predecessor then, as well as it's upcoming successor ;)

I like both racing simulators and arcade racing games but not when a arcade game is trying to jump in and become a simulator or vice versa. Because that often ends up destroying the series of the game. NFS for example jumping back and forth between arcade and sim :roll:
But as you said the appeal of Project Cars is much in it's graphics but for me it is also the reviews I've seen and read about the driving physics that added to my interest of the game.

A small and fast contribution to the thread;

If you liked Diablo II and it's expansion you will enjoy this game as well. It's been a while since last time I played this (Going on 10 years or so) so can't remember everything about it but is a very nice "2.5D" game with similar gameplay as Diablo II

It also has a follow up Sacred 2 and a to be released Sacred 3 which continues the story and game in similar manner as the first Sacred game.
