SSAO (sec)
Supersampling off: ~0.0050
Supersampling on: ~0.0090
In the location I was I didn't notice a change in FPS but I was at 55-60fps w/ vsync on so that's not surprising. On my rig Supersampling was questionably playable before this latest update (but I was playing with it anyways) but is now definitely playable. I'll update with newer numbers in a more performance intensive area later if it changes anything.
One quick question: Which value for ILType is old and new?
Thanks Boris!
Edit: Btw, as reported by kaffeekranz the profiler does seem to be all over the place. The numbers I posted are roughly the average I got. I didn't see anything over 0.0120 with Supersampling off and highest for Supersampling on was 0.0200. Both had lows of around 0.0010. Hope the more specific info is helpful. Oh and get some sleep!

My Ssao (sec) results with GTX 670 SLIENBSeries wrote:Version updated, download again
Improved performance of ambient occlusions in general and NVidia specific for supersampling mode of this effect. Added ILType parameter to [SSAO_SSIL] category to toggle previous simplified and less noisy method vs proper but noisy (used in versions for other games). Fixed crashes for some users.
I'm curious what is performance impact now for ssao in supersampling on/off now, compared to previous version.

Boris said a few pages back to set FilterQuality to 3 when using SSAO supersampling else you are just wasting performance.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.245
Sorry to say, but I get much worse performance with the latest version. A save in Whiterun went from c. 25 FPS with the previous version to c. 16 FPS with the latest one (and the same settings of course - supersampling on in both cases). Plus I also had the stats for SSAO all over the place, so impossible to give any numbers for that.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.245
I have come to report the crashing problem from 244-245 on my end is not happening anymore and the version works for me now..thanks boris .. (loved the new touch on showing the GPU on the Title Screen ...seeing those Titan lines makes me giggle )

Re: TES Skyrim 0.245
Okay, so I've had a couple of runs with your latest.
The freezing stopped, BUT the screen crashing did not. The lines still appear, but picture seems to restore itself instead of freezing the entire system. Not sure if this helps, but I haven't seen this happen in interiors - only exteriors (more strain, i suppose?)
I'm sorry I can't explain what's happening any clearer - I could make a video with my phone, but it would be terrible quality.
@Jafin
ILType = 0 is "old" method, 1 is for the new code.

Ssao is adaptive by amount of computations depending from objects in scene, you can't compute average in various places, because result will be incorrect. When testing, do not look on to the sky and don't move too close to objects, just single place testing is ok. But i don't understand, is it typo mistake 0.06 sec timing or it should be 0.006? If it 0.06, i can't help, nothing to optimize any more, so better ask other players, compare what is different. And don't use any driver tweaks, do never force anisotropic filtering in drivers, do not run crapware of any kind, etc.
Jafin16
ILType=1 is new. It's not new actually, it was used in earliest versions and mods for other games, but for performance reasons disabled it for skyrim.
RacerX849
FadeFogRangeDay=60.0
FadeFogRangeNight=60.0
These values are too high, basically you see ssao very close to camera and wasting performance for distant computations without seeing them. Run weather d4886 and see yourself.

You are amd user, better wait when some other report performance. Code highly optimized for modern nvidia cards, at least 6xx generation like mine, amd must run at same or about 20% less performance, but definetly not that much as you say.
Gabber
I'll pm you builds soon for testing.

As soon as I click load save it crashes.
