SKSE Crash Dump:
http://filedump.org/files/65CgB1390254221.html
SKSE.INI settings:
MemoryBlock1=512
MemoryBlock2=256
Hopefully someone more experienced than I will be able to use this info. After a bunch of testing with VMMAP, I noticed that in my "Commited" bar, shared memory takes up much more space than private data. When the game crashes, the dump files say, in Visual Basic, that TESV.exe tried to access virtual memory that it doesn't have the appropriate access for. Also, the very first "Private Data" block is always a few MB above the Memoryblock1 value (Meaning if I set MemoryBlock1=512, the Private Data block will be 524,288 K). Something I also noticed is that when I set MemoryBlock1 and MemoryBlock2 both to anything above 800, nothing gets allocated to the private data and the game may or may not start, but will crash.
If it matters, this is run on a Lenovo y580 laptop with GTX 660m (2GB Vram) and 16GB Ram

Re: Skyrim Memory Patch - fixing ILS, uGrids CTD, freezes
Many thanks for this. It basically (knock on wood) has made my game completely stable and I usually gets overload CTDs after playing for a while. And I've had no CTD or ILS whatsoever with this memory patch.

Sorry to answer your questions with more questions, but could you expand upon what you were doing in game at the time of the crash ? what operating system you are using ? are you using enboost, if so which binary (version) did you get ?stac016 wrote:SKSE Crash Dump:

Re: Skyrim Memory Patch - fixing ILS, uGrids CTD, freezes
Thanks for answering! I appreciate it, and sure I can give more info. What I've been doing is loading the game at the doors of Whiterun, and doing a speedmult run with toggleborders on, ugrids 11. It will usually crash within 15 seconds of standing or moving. It's weird because last night I had settings that allowed me to have ugrids of 19 and 21, but I'm having a little trouble recreating my enboost settings I had (I'm using the latest dll from the main ENB download page). Right now the settings are ReservedMemorySizeMB=2048, and VideoMemorySizeMB=16384, expand and reduce system memory settings are enabled also. The operating system I'm using is Windows 8.1.Daetarek wrote:Sorry to answer your questions with more questions, but could you expand upon what you were doing in game at the time of the crash ? what operating system you are using ? are you using enboost, if so which binary (version) did you get ?stac016 wrote:SKSE Crash Dump:

EDIT: Realized I had AVAST antivirus running, disabled and now I magically have more space in the "commited" bar.

Re: Skyrim Memory Patch - fixing ILS, uGrids CTD, freezes
Ok at a cursory glance i think your ENB memory settings are too high, and that could potentially cause a conflict, try bringing your ReservedMemorySizeMB down to either 256 or 512, and VideoMemorySizeMB around 2048 and do some testing I am pretty sure that VideoMemorySizeMB should be capped at a maximum of 8096, but my knowledge of the ENB config settings is not great, there are guides and even a configurator somewhere that can help with the settings for this, if it works at those levels you can then play with slowly begin bringing up the memory values to get your desired config.stac016 wrote: Thanks for answering! It may also be worth stepping up the values in your SKSE.ini to 768/512. I found that with over 200 mods i was still getting a few issues, not crashes mind, but stutters and lag with the 512/256.
I know this is a silly question but i want to try and be thorough are you running Windows 8.1 32 bit or 64 bit, i just want to be sure since that can have an effect also.

Interesting could you let us know how you go, this could be something that needs to be highlighted in the requirements of this modification.stac016 wrote: EDIT: Realized I had AVAST antivirus running, disabled and now I magically have more space in the "commited" bar.

Re: Skyrim Memory Patch - fixing ILS, uGrids CTD, freezes
AVAST must always be disabled, it's the most crappiest antivirus with incompatibility with everything.
ReservedMemorySizeMB=2048, and VideoMemorySizeMB=16384 - this is crazy, read description of ENBoost.

whoah whoah whoah those are high enboost allocations sir O_o i wouldn't even go that far with my titan.. ReservedMemorySizeMB=2048, and VideoMemorySizeMB=1638 are too high lower it,
also i second daetareks side effects too...this did fix my random CTD issues,,tried spawning a lot of stuff....i have 200+ mods and have been annoyed with the random CTD's ,sometimes i can play for a long period of times and sometimes it CTD's randomly at any point of the time,, i don't have mod conflicts or anything.
and with these patch i use the default 512/256 allocation and it works wonders...have been playing for an hour and a half now.
but noticeable longer load time,rare stutters, rare lags...and i'll gladly take those than having those annoying CTD's
i'm planning to go higher on the allocation but i'd probably messed my saved up so i'll stick with these
Thanks Again Sheson and also Daetareks . will give more feedback if a problem shows up

Re: Skyrim Memory Patch - fixing ILS, uGrids CTD, freezes
Hey all. I hope someone here can help me out. I've been trying to get the "new" memory patch to work but am having some issues (possibly?) I used the "lazy" versions and also compiled my own and went through the steps to set it up. I use Mod Organizer and run skse through that in order to start skyrim but when I do and I check the skse.loader file in "my documents" the "Sheson took your first born in exchange for more memory" message does not appear. If I run the skseloader directly, however, the message is there so I know it is working under those circumstances. I compiled it again this morning with the new memory hacks and it posts the two optional lines as well so I know I rebuilt it and installed it correctly but, again, this is only the case if I run it directly and not through MO. I don't understand why it wouldn't work through MO or how it would even be working at all since there is only the one dll it is operating from. Of course I need to run it through MO because my mods don't load otherwise and I'd prefer not to have to reinstall everything outside of MO just to see if this stops my exterior crashes. Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated.

Re: Skyrim Memory Patch - fixing ILS, uGrids CTD, freezes
Okay, I did lower the enboost settings to 1920 and 256. SKSE.ini settings are changed to memoryblock1=768 and memoryblock2=512. Ugrids are 11, and exterior cell buffer = 36 in skyrim.ini. Was able raise ugrids to 17 ingame and travel around for a minute, so I tried raising ugrids to 19 and it crashed. The commited bar is around 308 xxx K when I start skyrim, a little more than I had before.
It turns out that the reason my memory was doubled was because of ENB not being enabled. So I spoke too soon about AVAST, but the performance is much better with it disabled that's for sure. I'm going to keep trying every setting, If you guys want me to try anything specific just say so.
