Re: Dark Souls 2

Damn, i can't just pass by some things written here.
they did apologize about the port even BEFORE they made it, they announced they never worked on PC and that it would be a really basic port. Actually they did it after a petition from players ..
So 1) no one had to be surprised about the poor quality of the game
This is absolutely bullshit known for game programmers, porting ps3/xbox360 game to pc is piece of cake (but not vice versa). But more important thing is that only completely dumb and incompetent developers and managers can do and say this, it's unprofessional.
I think we should be grateful a publisher listen to players for once
Yeah, sure, you may, but not me. Publisher will NEVER do anything which will not for the profit. Petition? Don't be naive, it's just business.
why are you still using windows xp? pirate some 7 already dude.
I have win7 x64 for playing some games and i hate it very much and will never make it main os. If you like it, this doesn't mean you right.

In general, why nobody think about me? Game have just 1-2 weeks life cycle, i can't do much in such short period and unable to push the mod to the players. So who will use it? Only those who play 3-rd time and knows about enbseries web site, visiting it on regular basis?

I understand where you're coming from. I wouldn't work on such a large project just to watch it float on the dust either, so let me provide you with some numbers...

Dark Souls I was released in October of 2011 for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, which was followed by Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition - Dark Souls' PC port - in August of 2012.

It has been almost three years since Dark Soul I's console release.

Yet even today, Dark Souls is on the top 50 most played games on Steam alone.

Boris, let me put it this way... Skyrim is a time-less games, in the regards that it is unique each time you play it. There are a lot of things you can do in Skyrim... a lot of content, history and lore, and not to mention the amazing modding community.

The Souls series is no different in it's sense of replay-ability, Boris. Demon's Souls, Dark Souls I, and Dark Souls II are all really great, immersive RPGs, and have a lot to be experienced. I personally assure you that Dark Souls II will be continuously played for at least a couple more years, just like the older titles in the series.

You will not regret making an ENB for the game due to lack of popularity, it just won't happen.

EDIT: I would just like to point out, that most of the Souls series' player-base that owns a console, is currently enjoying Dark Souls II in large numbers on said consoles. The numbers shown in the image used to be quite larger. Not only that, almost all of the people I have personally encountered who own Dark Souls II on the consoles claim to have pre-ordered Dark Souls II for the PC due to the higher quality assets and better frame rate.

Sorry, i think differently and my knowledge based on long being in gamedev industry, even if i not manager or producer, this doesn't mean i don't understand simplest things.

PS: what is on your screenshot is result of gameplay by those gamers who waiting of ds2 release, it's standart situation to replay old games before sequel.

Re: Dark Souls 2

I see. That certainly saddens me, but the ENB Series is indeed your brain-child, and there's no reason to pressure you to create something you are personally not devoted to. Either way, I would still like to point this out: http://steamcharts.com/app/211420 just to provide more accurate ratings on Dark Souls I's PC player-base.

Beyond that, I suppose it's simply not in my power to convince you otherwise. ^~^'

Thank you so much for your time spent in this discussion, and for the countless hours you have poured in other numerous ENB projects.

To be fair dark souls 1 players on steam is around 4000-5000 every day since a few months after release.

Anyways, regardless of how shit the game is or how fucked up the publishers are, please do a ENB mod for it.
I am a faggot and I want to play it with ENB. Pretty please :3
I just wish ENB would work on more games.

Re: Dark Souls 2

I have my own statistics from visitors. Guess you know how popular gta games are, especially gta san andreas, which is still very popular because of multiplayers. Oblivion and fallout games also popular, because of mods fan base. And owhat on practice? I have so low amount of visitors for them, that ignore modding and releasing updates very rare, only when have absolutely nothing else to do. I have chances to bring mod to many players only for certain types of games or when game is buggy like hell and online magazines will post articles about fix, in all other cases i'm just wasting time. Graphic mod is not #1 thing in user's pc, much less than 1% of players have it installed, even skyrim players (former players to be exact). Search stats from xfire or other software and compare.

EDIT: other software, because steam have flash sales and it's statistic is incorrect compared to standart gamers life, who purchased game long time ago.

Re: Dark Souls 2

There isn't that few of us, I think the problem lies that not many (Souls) people even know about this forum or ENB. Instead of raising their voice here, they "whine" about not getting those awesome lighting FX everywhere else.

Re: Dark Souls 2

I'm not interested at all. The game makes me mad, it's primitive indie like crap with degenerate character which can't normally move, everything is a shit, sound, animation, models, lighting, textures, i can't find anything positive and have no idea how in the heck to test it if it require some playing to get in to different locations, but i'm on the edge with that.
