Thanks for the answer.
Regarding the Win8 theory.. using the Win7 compatibility mode didn't change a thing.
I wouldn't rule it out though, far from it.
Fallout, like I said, had the same thing, but there it could be solved with the injector at least.
I didn't see an error report on Win7 after the recent update, so that could very well be the culprit.

Re: Dark Souls 2 0.253 beta
Here's a comparison of what's already possible with slight gamma and AO tweaking:
Only issue is stability. AO randomly flickers off and on when you face certain directions, and I get some AO ghosting when i face certain directions too.
Very Interested to see what is possible!

Looks good cyber! I hope Boris fixes the issues though. The default lighting really makes the game really flat. Particularly the wall textures and ground, really looks flat, parallax mapping ceratinly would help but i doubt we can get that. I played Darksouls 1 and they did a good job of hiding the flat textures.

I can't get, for the life of me, the DOF to work properly. It just blurs the whole screen.
First time i end up with such an issue in about three years.

My Windows 8.1 theory doesn't check out either, since it's working for some guys.
Jesus, I'm out of ideas.

Which is what exactly?
Simply less ambient and more direct lighting?

Those screen shots are what Dark Souls looked like before they removed the new lighting. It's basically: High AO, fast light falloff, high bloom, and slightly de saturated.kaffeekranz wrote:Which is what exactly?

Does anyone know what parameter you would have to change to make the light falloff faster, so that lights are still bright, but they die off very quickly. Like this:
And this:

Ugh, I wish I had a better computer to play this game with ENB.
Nonetheless, I hope when I will buy it, there will be a huge tweaking community like in Skyim ENB.

Re: Dark Souls 2 0.253 beta
It's already happening and some presets are gorgeous, but there still are bugs with this early ENB version like AO flickering, ghost frame of shadows, incompatibility with 16/10 ratio, incompatibiliy with Gedosato etc ..
