Yeh you've got to stand in the right place in Majula: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejMU_vVnTek

Also if you go to Aldia's Keep and stand where the giant dragon skeleton is it happens. It's just a really irritating bug that you know is going to happen at any time.
I wonder... does it have anything to do with the character standing in a shaded spot / not receiving direct lighting?

Boris, could you tell me what drivers you're using?

Neither do I luckily. I have traveled to every aforementioned place in-game, rotated my character and camera in all directions multiple times, and haven't experienced AO flickering to even the slightest degree.

If this helps, I'm using an NVIDIA GTX 650Ti with the 337.50 beta drivers.

No, i did try doing the exact same stuff you do in the video - no flickering. So this seems to be a user-specific bug like the crashing... *sigh* Not very easy to pin down.

Interesting. Im using the same drivers. I'll try messing with the in-game settings to see if i can find a fix. Have you tried to go to Aldia's keep, in the hall where the giant dragon skeleton is? It happens a lot for me in there.

Re: Dark Souls 2 v0257

Okay, i did some presumptions about multithreading issues and was right. Game do function calls to device from different threads. Flickering and crashes are all about that, i can't dance with several threads when using only one for all mod computations. Examine behavior of them to make workaround is not that easy (and if SweetFX works it's because it much simpler, post processor only), because i don't know when something will be called from different threads, this is done in abnormal way in the game. Will try to find out some simple solution, but i can't debug this as can't see myself any bugs.

Great news Boris. Or at least very promising. I think there's at least a couple people willing to help you debug this. I've found one spot where I get some flickering, and occasionally when I alt-tab or force change the resolution using SRWE (in a window) I get crashes. If you have test builds post them here and we can give it a go.

Boris you are the man! :D Let us know if you need us to debug this for you.

Re: Dark Souls 2 v0257

It's not debugging, it's testing. But i need debugging. Anyway, did some thread locking for certain functions, hope game do not call other while loading, i can't log all of them, it's hundred megabytes to review. Test ao flickering and crashes, if improved.
