Re: TES Skyrim
Yeah, the texture maps have to be preprocessed pretty much all the time, but again, it's nice when you can do it all inside PS.Pfuscher wrote:kaffeekranz wrote: Stretching really is a problem, I haven't found a good parallax tutorial after hours with google, I have to admit. I decided to do my p maps like the other on nexus or with crazy bump/PS, when I have been even lazier.
If a texture consists of rough bright stone with dark mortar inbetween, than it's really no problem, but if there's some other stuff like plants or a colour problem, then it really sucks
Had some nice textures, which I couldn't use after hours of painting, because of that.
Quixel is free? But surely only parts of it, their 4k stuff looked like the best stuff I've ever seen in their preview trailer.
I'll look into it.
It's been annoying having to crack open PS for that stuff, then having to go back to CB, then back to PS, etc.
I'm getting pretty okay results by converting to SW and modifying the sw colour channels and afterwards fiddling with exposure and curves, then just starting NDO and letting it do it's magic.
By the way, I haven't checked out your files yet, I think I'm going to download them all and then zip them together so I can just throw it inside NMM.
But just a question, what resolution are you using for your parallax maps?
The whole Quixel Suite (NDO, DDO, 3DO and [theoretically the 4k Megascans stuff I think you're talking about]) is in Open Beta right now and usable until September 8th, NDO2 though is available for free and indefinitely.
Like mentioned above Megascans doesn't seem to work yet, but that thing will be like a big marketplace anyway, meaning you'll get the standard stuff and have to pay extra for everything else you want.

I think I have found my new ENB Preset: Grim and Somber Enchanted. The cinematic look I want and the performance I need. I love it.
