Skyrim: Fire not appearing, and no water reflection..

Hi,

After I did a driver update from and 2009 driver to a 2012 driver I've had this problem, where I can't see fire at all, the dragon will breathe fire, but I'll only see some light, also if I use fire magic, or anyother type of magic, it won't appear, even when I use the torch I can only see the bud, and light on the floor, but no actual flame, also I don't see a water reflection anymore.

I think many people will say do a restore and put the 2009 driver back if it worked good then, but when I do a restore, it takes it back to the 2008 driver (the one that came with the computer) and I can't seem to get it back to the old settings.

I know I don't have the best graphics card, and I play on low settings, but other than this issue everything works fine...
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 series
Version 8.17.0010.1119
Date 15/02/12

I know it has to be a glitch to do with the graphic card and skyrim, but because I have seen fire before the new update, I think maybe its not the card after all, just something in the update...

Is there a known fix for this? If so can someone tell me how apply it so it works? (Sorry I'm not really that good at computer stuff D: )

I tried the ENBInjector on the skyrim downloads page I found here, and I can see flames and fire now!!
BUT
Now I can't see under water at ALL -_- I get a grey/blue screen :( Is there anyway to fix that? or to change it? I want flames, but still want to be able to see underwater :)

Try Green Water Fix by AltheaR. Note that it has its own version for WATER.

@mindflux

Hi,

I downloaded what you said and the instructions say:

Install
=======
1. Extract the files to a temporary location.
2. Examine the folder structure and make corrections where necessary.
3. Copy files to (install folder)\skyrim\Data\
4. Start Skyrim Launcher, click Data Files, check GreenWaterFix.esp

I've done all that but when I get to the 4th step, the 'Data Files' option on my launcher is blacked up, and unclickable -_-???

Right, no worries. Open SkyrimPrefs.ini (located in Documents/My Games/Skyrim on Vista, may vary depending on the OS), scroll down until you see [Launcher] and add bEnableFileSelection=1 underneath it. If there's already a line that says bEnableFileSelection=0, simply set the value to 1.

Re: Skyrim: Fire not appearing, and no water reflection..

Hi guys,

With the Green Water Fix mod, I can't find a Data folder as mentioned in Step 3. All I could find was the ModData in my curse client folder for Skyrim. Anyways, I went on and add a Data folder and copied the greenwaterfix.esp file into it. I would like to mention that this is my only mod added to the game. However, I could not select it in the Data files window when I play Skyrim; it's completely blank.

Could someone kindly point me in the right direction? :cry:

You're looking in the wrong folder.

Right click on the Skyrim shortcut (on your desktop or Start menu) and select 'Open file location'. An Explorer window will open in the Skyrim folder in which you will find Data folder. It's already there, so no need to create it yourself.
