Re: Skyrim: Unreal Cinema

Thanks very much for continuing to develop this superb configuration - I'm getting some absolutely fantastic results with it.

One question - would you ever consider implementing a manual focus mode? Currently, the autofocus is good - however, if I'm composing a shot with a character in the left or right of foreground, for example, I often want to have a short focal distance on the camera so that the character's in focus and the background's out of focus. Having a manual focus rather than focus based on the crosshair would be really useful for expanding the range of shots I can get.

Thanks in advance, and thanks again for all the hard work!

Re: Skyrim: Unreal Cinema

I'm not sure that's even possible with ENB mate. If anyone would know though the best person to ask would be Matso as he did the custom code for DoF. Could be possible to design some form of keybind like for brightness etc in HD6's shaders.

The closest you could get to any kind of DoF control is Dynavision or DoFToggle as far as I know.

Re: Skyrim: Unreal Cinema

I don't know either whether it is possible to implement manual focus or how difficult that would be, but I remember that early incarnations of Matso's DOF focused to objects nearest to the camera. That, coupled with some tweaking for each shot to set the desired focusing distance, could perhaps offer satisfactory results, if you're not afraid of some fiddling. It seems like Matso has removed the older versions from his page, but I think I still have some of them.

Yep, it seems like I remembered right:

Image

Ignore the black stripes on hair, it's caused by the hair replacer, not DOF.

Re: Skyrim: Unreal Cinema

No problem, sir. I think there was an even more rudimentary version, I can try if I can find it as well.

Re: Skyrim: Unreal Cinema

Mindflux - would you be able to send that over to me too? I'm no code expert, but after a bit of hacking around in the codebase I think I've located a couple of functions that *might* help...

EDIT - I'm an eejit, I see you attached the file. I'll grab it now! Thanks.
