Skyrim light sources flicker since upgrading to Nvidia 760

Just installed new graphics card: 4GB GEFORCE 760 gtx. Using Driver 347.09. In general it seems good, but in Skyrim I get light sources flickering on and off depending on angle. I move one way, light source gives light. I move another, light source does not. I have tried forcing AA and anisotropy off in Nividia Control Panel and through Skyrimprefs.ini :

iMaxAnisotropy=0
iMultiSample=0

I avoid launcher. It causes problems.

Still, I get flicker. I did not with AMD Radeon card.

Any suggestions?

Re: Skyrim light sources flicker since upgrading to Nvidia 7

Nobody reported this issue as driver bug or something like that. It's always vanilla game bug with limited amount of lights can be applied to the object and with some lighting mods (which modify light ranges f.e.) this even worse. Run vanilla game with ENBSeries uninstalled and see yourself. Why this was not visible with AMD, i don't know. Try to check this bug in exterior, because there almost never more than 1 point light is per object set, so no flickering. But if it flicker, this is different reason, don't know what can be. Btw, from my experience, after having amd drivers installed, nvidia cards stop function properly with heavy load, for example with mod installed and effects quality set to very high, after 20-40 seconds in some locations of skyrim i starting to see triangles and then system freeze or bsod. Removing even amd driver files manually do not help, so i need to install clear OS to fix. Try this at the end, may be it's not just me.

Thanks for the reply,

It seems to be a vanilla glitch. I think a mod author added more light sources to an area and they cause the flicker. I didn't notice them at first b/c they are subtle. I do hope I don't have to reinstall the OS. THAT would be a headache.

I believe I just started noticing the headaches you mentioned with the Nvidia card with former AMD drivers. Can you tell me, in addition to the artifacts (triangles) did you also get frequent lock-ups like stutters that didn't end? And when you re-installed windows were you able to simply install over the existing OS or was it necessary to start with a clean install?

Bloody hell, I think I know the answer already.

Re: Skyrim light sources flicker since upgrading to Nvidia 7

After amd drivers i had the issues based on time running the game and how heavy effects are turned on. Vanilla game also had this, but after 10 minutes of playing only at certain areas with many objects (Whiterun with installed trees mod in there). Other games act the same, old are fine, but heavy on effects start lagging with several seconds delays, triangle bugs and finally system freeze or bsod. With the mod and ssao maxed it was just about 30-40 seconds to start that, i checked gpu and vram frequencies and temperature, they were fine.
Windows must be completely reinstalled after amd video drivers, over existing was not helpful for me (but it may work for win7, don't know). Removing all amd driver files not help too.

Thanks. I'm using win7 and I don't think that's what I'm dealing with, but I'll keep it in mind.
