Game seems VERY faded w/ Shadowplay + ENB

I wanted to record some footage from Skyrim to convince a friend to switch to the PC version. However, when I record with Shadowplay (the only recording software I can use at the moment) the game almost looks vanilla. In-game everything looks fine, all the effects are working properly, but when the recording is played back it looks very washed out and faded.

Heres what it looks like when recorded

And here is what it looks like in game

It may look very minor in the video, but in most scenarios it almost looks like the ENB is turned off. Also, I know YouTube compressed the video, but the raw uncompressed video taken looks exactly the same.
I've tried searching everywhere but can't find any answers. I've also tried every combination of settings in Shadowplay, but nothing seems to work.
I did stumble upon something though. When I activate the ForceBorderless or ForceBorderlessfullscreen (usually play with it off) in the enblocal.ini, and I fire up the game, everything looks exactly like the recordings did; very washed out.
Anyway, I was wondering if anybody could help me figure out what is going on. I'm very new to recording, so it could be something obvious to someone, just not me.

I use Shadowplay to capture Skyrim ENB videos without any issues. Your video definitely seems to have ENB enabled...
Maybe you can adjust the video capture quality settings? YouTube does compress videos you upload, but it doesn't totally flatten colors or anything.

Thanks for the reply.
I've tried every possible combination in the Shadowplay settings, and no matter what I choose the video is always faded. It's almost like (forgive me for newb terminology) the filter that saturates the image, or the color palate things that are added to the overall image, are not applied. I've tried manually saturating the image, and it looks better in a few areas, but overall still looks very off.
I'm using Seasons of Skyrim ENB, if that helps at all.

Does that mod also use an additional post-processing injector, like SweetFX? I think I understand what you are saying; there is something in the rendering that is seen on your screen that is not captured in the video; this would suggest that some kind of additional processing is being applied to the image on your monitor besides ENB alone, i.e. SweetFx or some other kind of processing? Really not sure though, just speculating...

Yes. And It does; It uses SweetFx. However, I use sweetfx (injecting it with RadeonPro) in many other games and all the effects show up. I'm not however using that method for Skyrim as it's part of the ENB, so maybe it is something with that? Are you using Mod Organizer by any chance?

Edit - I'm wondering if maybe since I have certain files for the ENB installed through Mod Organizer, and some Manually into the Skyrim directory, if that's not messing with Shadowplay? Since Mod Organizer puts things into a virtual folder.

Re: Game seems VERY faded w/ Shadowplay + ENB

Hmm, well I don't truly understand how it all works, but it seems that Shadowplay is recording somewhere in the 'rendering chain' prior to the SweetFx effect application. There may be some kind of workaround for this ... but I do not now how. However, SweetFx is just a post-processing injector, so all of its effects could in theory be added to an ENBseries effect.txt file, eliminating the need for SweetFX altogether.

Your theory about Mod Organizer and how all the files are arranged might be the issue.

Maybe somebody in these forums better versed in HLSL could help out...?

I think you're right. The few things that are running from the ENB through Mod Organizer are just simple textures and meshes; there are no palate or color correction type things.
I'll continue to look around and see if I can find an answer. Thank you for the help. I now know specifically what to search for.

Re: Game seems VERY faded w/ Shadowplay + ENB

Been over a year ago that I had started using SweetFx. Think at the time I had looked up the issue as well, not with using Shadowplay, just trying to get screenshots. They weren't showing all the post processing. Found out that fraps was one of the few recorders that would capture the full post process. I've not used the Shadowplay much since it doesn't do screenshots.

Thanks for the reply
I guess I'll have to give FRAPS a try then. I've heard that it comes with a performance hit though, and I'm already pushing my 970 to its limit in most outdoor areas.
I usually take screenshots through Steam. Works well and captures all the Post Process effects, at least for me.
