Re: TES Skyrim 0.266

Even if lens flares are blended to the bloom texture, you are using it for bloom anyway. So i don't see any problem. If you don't want or can't mix it to the bloom, then dublicate code which blend bloom with scene in enbeffect.fx and in second copy apply fullres bloom.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.266

Folks, please check attached build. Interested in stability tests, for crashes while playing or loading various saved games, invisible objects.
Btw, found that game fail to free memory if loading saved games which contain data about removed mods (with message about that). I recommend to not use that kind of saves.

EDIT: file deleted

I'll send you a PM with the file.

Not sure if matters but I run the game on supersampling sizes... ie. last screenshot came from 100% crop of a shot made on 4500x3000 resolution.

Looks like you disabled bShadowMaskZPrePass=0 in the Display part, but you enabled it again at the end of the file in the Tree part

[Trees]
bUseMultiThreadedTrees=1
bShadowMaskZPrePass=1
bRenderSkinnedTrees=1
uiMaxSkinnedTreesToRender=24

...

Compare it to original one to find out how many things are broken. Forced parameters, game breaking multithreaded params. I don't understand, why players think that if something hidden it will work and work properly?
You should delete that line.

BTW, I prefer using

Code: Select all

iBlurDeferredShadowMask=1
Z-Prepass doesn't seem to be affected by it, and rising it over 1 causes the glow outline between shadows bug.

Most of those params don't do anything on Skyrim, those are from Oblivion and Fallout.

As for multi-threaded params, they are fine to be used AFAIK, though most of them are already enabled by default.

I downloaded the ctdtest file but I just want to clarify exactly what kind of testing you're looking for. Is it something we should stress test or just normal stability while playing? And for saved games, are you referring to ones that fail to load normally or something new? I just want to be clear about what I'm testing so I don't give you useless information.

This is just stability test. I don't think that stress test will help, because the chance to break something in this buggy game is very huge, so tests must be done in same conditions like you play it regulary. I tried to replace some code for geometry and want to be sure that it is not buggy right now, before other changes are made. Various crapware may act differently with it. It doesn't mean that i haven't reviewed the code myself, just the "black box" zone of directx which i prefer to not enter.
Saved games i'm talking about are any which was created and then mods removed.

Will do some testing after updating my drivers.
You're absolutely right about the saves.
But doing a clean save after mods removal/addition prevents it, to my knowing.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.266

There's a also save game cleaner out there that rids the save of scripts, not sure how efficient it is (haven't tested myself).

Black button with down arrow inside and "download" text near to it. Bottom of the page mostly, after list of changes.
