Re: TES Skyrim
Remember that in SLI mode memory is mirrored in both cards.. so you have to divide by 2. So it is only really about the 5-6Gb... And out of that god knows how much is actually actively used... the VRAM is not just emptied out when it is no longer required like normal RAM. Try to compare with your used RAM value as well in both the main process and enbhost.exe. That should more or less provide you with the proper value. Since the textures also need to be stored in RAM.
I have never seen the game be able to do well above 8Gb of total RAM usage on a 2Gb VRAM card. And I would not expect it to do much better much higher than that... since then other parts of the computer becomes a bottleneck due to the silly amounts of data being moved around all the time.
That said I would love to see some shots of your style with a bit higher contrast at that resolution electricsheep! Either via a simple contrast piece of code or tonemapping. Since you have so many pixels I suspect it might be possible to do something really stunning looking. Especially with the rather wide field bloom style you got going on.

The VRAM usage quoted was from Precision X and it shows the usage per card (not the same as GTA V which shows the doubled usage in its config screen - it shows around 10GB in game and PX shows 5GB per card) If I disable SLI I get the same usage on one card so it is using all 12GB VRAM Hopefully with DX12 will be able to use all 24GB in supported games, imagine what you could do with that!
Will have a play with different contrast methods, any method you would recommend for the best quality and to avoid banding?

Yes am crazy Look forward to trying your mod

@ElectricSheep
You be crazy mon! Would love to know the actual RAM usage as well.. since VRAM is a pointless measure in most cases.
Anyways... the vital stuff!
Now I do not know how you have setup your shaders, or which tonemapping and contrast settings you already use.
But if you do use an effect.txt the easiest would be to look at the contrast settings there since it is used after enbeffect.fx.
Since your bloom is like it is, I think you can get away with quite a bit of adjustment without any banding since the bloom will smooth that out as well.
If you feel all experimental you could even try to put in a contrast adjustment before you apply bloom in enbeffect.fx... but again depends on how you have setup your file, and how confident you feel at messing with the code side of things!
I guess in short that I just think it would be interesting to see how your style would look if there was a bit more definition. Especially with a large pixel base since then the effect would look more subtle.
