Re: GTA 5 0.275

I'm not interested in roof deformation and other things like that, everybody have their own specialisation, mine is graphics and i don't bother with anything else unless i found something simple enough to make by left leg while eating.

On the other hand, things like proper (roof etc) deformation of cars is something mandatory. If you focused on things like that instead of plain graphic extension (read eye candy stuff) for GTA V, having ENB for it would become mandatory and the downloads would skyrocket.
I'm with Boris on this one, I wanted ENB for the graphics and don't care for things such as roof deformation. Even asked several people of my age (18), none of them cared for roof deformation in ENB. I think its like I said in the post over on the gtaforums, more and more children are playing this game and are so enticed by the gameplay and don't care for seeing a visual overhaul.

A lot of them are running the game on the lowest spec possible, to experience what everyone else did while the game has been out for years now.

What Boris says is true, I can't argue with that. Users don't seem to want a graphical overhaul, but I damn sure do.

Wait a sec, did you really called people more interested in gameplay than graphics children ?

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha jesus fucking christ this is like the world upside down.

Re: GTA 5 0.275

Obviously you have your reasons for making the mod, Boris... but consider this - do you want to do it? Do you want to make the mod? If so then screw how many people actually use it... hell, make it for yourself and don't release anything if you don't want to. You have no obligation to do anything. Anything you DO make and DO release will be appreciated by at least those few of us here that love your work. Personally, I wish I could have ENB on basically every game I have. Unfortunately most games don't have ENB support or it's very limited (read Mass Effect (1,2,3), Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines) simply because you understandably can't give the kind of support for all games as you have with Fallout, Skyrim, GTAIV, etc.

So, in short, if you like working on the mod, screw the world and make the mod. Hopefully you'll share it with us (please? :D ). If not, well, whatever, we'll live for now. Please note I'm saying this about ENB for a game I don't even own or intend to own (GTA games just don't do it for me.)

P.S. If you DID decide to be done with GTAV and wanted to work on, say, The Witcher 3, I'm sure there'd be a few happy faces *wink wink*

P.P.S. The above is just a suggestion, not even a request. I know you already said you don't intend to work on it... I'm just sayin' =P

Re: GTA 5 0.275

If the average user/gamer ruling the modding world we are doomed ! Stop being about what people want, it's about what you (us on this forum) want and it's GRAPHICS !!! Don't give a king fuck about kids downgrading their game to barely get 60fps on a low rig, PC gaming is for awesome graphic that it. Since i use the my ENB my game is more beautiful and that's why V is better on PC, it more beautiful and if you can make it even better, do it ! The result we acieve with IV is the way to go, ENB on V is at his early stage but when it will be more complete, no other game will be able to compete and that when everybody will be after that "high-end ENB" even if it running at 30fps. And for the "online" theory that's bullshit, everybody is complaining about how many cheaters/hackers ruinining the experience and that's a true fact. Give us the tools we will do the rest...

Re: GTA 5 0.275

@Boris

I know you stopped working on GTA5 but I was wondering if you had any information/thoughts about its shadow rendering.
I've noticed that GTA5 has issues when rendering shadows at 'medium distance'. Its difficult to explain what I mean so hopefully this link will assist you in figuring out what I'm trying to say. Basically its sort of a shadow box and it's really noticeable when you walk close to shadows then walk away from them.

Discussion: http://gtaforums.com/topic/787811-shado ... s-for-gra/
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JBXvvIHPJk

So I was wondering, is it possible to increase the distance of this shadow box (I have my settings to max and still have the issue) or can the issue be fixed at all? Some say this is a rendering bug while others say it's no bug at all and is due to the way the RAGE Engine renders shadows. Anywho, I just wanted your thoughts on the matter and whether or not it's even possible to fix.

Dilapidated
I only have this issue when playing without HD\High res shadows.
ex:

Easily seen that the shadows are high res even at the distance.

Re: GTA 5 0.275

It's fixable from my side, not sure if possible without modding. May be somewhere exist parameter for nearest level of cascade shadow drawing distance.

Re: GTA 5 0.275

@dpeasant
My textures and shadows are both set the max, also in advanced settings I have long shadows on. Under settings I have shadows set to softest. I've noticed that switching shadows to Nvidia PCSS slightly minimizes the effect but the "shadow box" still remains. It's mostly noticeable when its very sunny and I walk toward an object that has a shadow cast on it. By walking back and forth the shadows appears to react oddly. Kind of like that video I posted. Nice screens by the way. I always love checking out your screens at the gallery.

@Boris
Glad to know it's something that can fixed. If you ever decide to work on GTA5 again hopefully you'll look into this. I'm assuming if the cascade shadow drawing distance parameters are found, then this can be fixed by simply increasing the distance?
