Hello folks, my first post in this forum!
Electricsheep, would you mind sharing your enblocal [memory] settings with me? Since it was mentioned you got your Titan X setup working (I use a single Titan X + 5820k, my Skyrim needs currently 3,5-4GB of VRAM while running to give a brief idea of textures installed, I use mostly 1/2k textures, few 4k, but have alot of stuff covered overall). I am uncertain on how to minimize memory / loading related CTD chance to its minimum... since they occur every now and then.. I think mostly on cell transition, not sure though (I am certain its not scripts and i am also not hitting the 512mb limit set in SKSE memory patch)
I am not lazy, I have currently browsed this whole forum and half the internet for information about these settings, but I'm still uncertain... so I decided to sign up here and maybe get some input from the veteran modders or maybe even the master Boris himself!
My current settings:
[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false
DisablePreloadToVRAM=false
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=512
VideoMemorySizeMb=10240
EnableCompression=true
AutodetectVideoMemorySize=false
I have a couple of questions:
1. ReservedMemorySizeMb... I am particulary uncertain about that.. I mostly read values of 256 or 512.... From what I have read it is the amount of memory that gets not allocated by ENBoost and at the same time gets a dublicate in RAM... so more but slower memory for Skyrim... So why not set it to zero? Other programs running in background (windows, crapware, antivirus) have enough VRAM left and ENBoost could work with VRAM only, wouldnt that be a benefit?
Does more RAM usage mean more CTD chance in general (because RAM too slow)?
2. STEP forum claims ExpandSystemMemoryX64 must be set to false if using Unsafememoryhacks.. is this credible information? And Do I need Unsafememoryhacks in my setup? I read its necessary if VRAM high compared to texture size ingame
3. A while ago there were wild discussions about ENBoost interfering with SKSE memory patch... Is this still something to consider and a source of CTD? Since I guess almost everyone uses both SKSE memory patch and ENBoost...
I am very grateful for any help!
Regards,
Umaril
EDIT: I tried DisableDriverMemoryManager=true and Unsafe memoryhacks, still random CTD while running around exterior, maybe even more. What I noticed in this mode while running outside fast black meshes without textures can occur, does that mean textures can't get loaded in time? Do i have too many textures for my system?
