Re: TES Skyrim 0.279
It has been noted by others here, and in other places, that Win 7 doesn't suffer the same problem as Win 8/8.1/10. I trust that it IS a driver issue, but it looks like, for whatever reason, the drivers for those OS's only allocate a max of 4GB of VRAM in dx9. All of the Titan users that have no problems are running Win 7.

I may be totally wrong as I'm no expert on drivers and/or operating systems, but I suspect the limit is actually imposed by the Windows 10 OS and not the drivers. I came to this conclusion after recently "upgrading" to Windows 10 (then shorty reverting back to Windows 7 thereafter).
I have an AMD r9 390 with 8 GB of VRAM. On Windows 7, Boris's DirectX 9 VRAM Tool gives a VRAM total in excess of 8 GB (usually around 12000 MB, depending on what I have running in the background, since I have 16 GB of system RAM). However, after upgrading to Windows 10 and using the same graphics card, with the same driver version, Boris's tool gives a result of exactly 4096 MB.
I would like to report that I have seen similar results on the STEP forums. It would seem that Windows 8 and 10 users are only able to use 4GBs for DX9 games as reported by Boris's tool. Boris's tool seems to always report around 4GBs for these OSes. I've deducted that it is either:Jafin16 wrote:It has been noted by others here, and in other places, that Win 7 doesn't suffer the same problem as Win 8/8.1/10. A) a limitation of the drivers for those OS versions
B) an issue with the tool on those OS versions
I am not informed enough to say that is it one over the other. I'll leave that to the experts, like Boris. But I have seen a lot of the same reported by users on the STEP forums.

@boris
you remember when i told you i was trying to tweak skyrim on my plasma tv over steam-streaming? ... but the ENB menu could not be shown, because how you said it, due to the method steam hooks into the game.
today, after 2 months or so, i streamed it over steam for fun, and voila... ENB menu working!
i havent really changed anything that i know of. so maybe steam changed something.
just wanted to let people know. in case anyone wants to try it out.
... i am so happy i can tweak on my couch on plasma tv with those nice blacks / contrast

@benhat
You can also run it from a remote windows desktop with the shield and that works with ENB too.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.279
When using the ForceBorderlessFullscreen option, Windows uses nearest neighbour filtering to resize the image, which looks really bad with display resolutions that aren't an exact multiple of the game's displayed. Would it be possible to make it filter the image smoothly when resizing it?
I tried using GDST for it, but it appears to be incompatible with ENB both in wrapper and injector formats.

No, use driver downsampling, i don't want to waste video memory for rarely used feature.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.279
I can no longer get 0.279 to work. It was working previously, but now it doesn't. 0.262 still works. I have disabled all of my addons and double checked my SkyrimPrefs.ini. Everything is in working order.
Why would 0.262 work and not 0.279? It WAS working until I tried out some new ENB presets, namely this one: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/61206/?

Re: TES Skyrim 0.279
Presets are compatible with each other, something different happened. I forgot what in 0.274+ versions was different that users started to report issues, the only thing i know for sure is that crapware (some of them) related bugs in new version produce crash instead of plain graphic bugs. May be enblocal.ini setting from preset do not work for you? For example ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true fails if SKSE memory patch setting are wrong, incompatible SKSE mods used (at least two exist, don't know their names though) or again crapware.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.279
I have tried various enblocal.ini settings and have even set all options to false. I don't think it is the enblocal settings. I will try playing the game without skse and see if 0.279 works that way. Although, I haven't added or removed anything from my game. All of a sudden, 0.279 just quit working. I'll see if removing skse works.
