Re: Fallout 4 0.283 ENBoost

Ugh. CPU is a bottleneck too? My new computer is gonna cost a fortune just to run this game decently.

Should I be investing in a CPU with hyperthreading for this game or no?

It seems that more threads > less in this game

Re: Fallout 4 0.283 ENBoost

@Boris, ah, that explains why a I3 outperforms a 8350 with this game.. the dual core I3 will probably go up to 100% load, combined with it's better architecture it'll outperform it.
i saw some benchmarks that gave the I3 10 fps more on the high and the low end then the 8350.

@Dpeasant, it's not even possible to run it with solid fps with all settings on low for a lot of people, you have to tweak the hell out of the ini files to get it to behave.
But yeah, AMD users have been taken in the asshole by Bethesda..
It also seems that the CPU isn't the real bottleneck, but the programs CPU load is, it only utilizes max 60% of your processor when you have more then 2 cores.
If it would go up to 100% a 8350 would do the job nicely i suppose, even my old 1090T would do well enough.

I'm not complaining now, cause i can run it at 40~60 now, but it took me the better part of a day to get it running like that.
And that is quite bothersome to be honest, every other game i bought runs fine right out of the box, except for Bethesda (native) titles made with gamebryo.

Batman devs at least had some balls and removed the game until problems were fixed (at least most of them). Bethesda, on the other hand, runs around yelling how cool their game is.

Lol no, in some cases Batman runs worse than it did before. Somehow support with pagefiles from Windows 8 and 10 was lost, meaning it's damn near unplayable if you have less than 16GB of RAM unless you're on 7. Some people aren't even able to run the game anymore at all, CTD.

Today they've officially abandoned their efforts at multi-GPU support and they're still offering unconditional refunds until the end of the year. The game is broken as fuck. Fallout 4 is coded way better.

@Bonnie Lass, Way better ? LOL..
Somewhat less bad you mean.

@Xilandro, well i do like the game very much, i just don't like the performance problems, like with the other Fallout games, it will have to be fixed by us modders as always in the end.

Re: Fallout 4 0.283 ENBoost

When I build my new computer i'm going to have to make the difficult choice of sticking with Windows 10 or going back to 7.

On the one hand, there seem to be a lot less issues with Bethesda games when you're on 7, but on the other, I can't stand Aero and I'll miss being able to reassign default folders like My Documents/Videos/Music etc. to a separate drive.

Windows 10 to get used to the OS before DX12 games start being released. That's what I'd do.

Yeah, it's a great game (from unbiased point of view ofc xD), but man, such lags and "modders will make it" completely ruins that sweet spot of joy and immersion. Yknow, when you're spending more time digging through ini files, waiting for Boris making some magic, and\or making tons and tons of mods in Geck\CK, just to make it behave at least a little bit better - that's not okay. That's not our job to fix their shit xD
I'm curious how they will support F4 during upcoming months, and how much more bugs they'll add...

Re: Fallout 4 0.283 ENBoost

@Xilandro - If it's anything like their previous releases we can expect beaucoup more bugs with each update. It's magical how Bethesda seems to break games more rather than fix them in the patching phase. Although I agree it's not modders job to fix their shit (it's truly half-assed of them to the maximum), but I still kinda just wish they'd just focus on releasing the GECK right away so modders can start patching the game and we can skip whatever ridiculous crap BthDa digs out of the programming trash for 'updates'. I'd be fine with only using unofficial patches at this point as they've made me totally abandon hope of ever seeing a finished BthDa release, even months and months after it's come out. As far as I'm concerned, Boris and Alexander Blade are the real FO4 devs at the moment, lol.

@Boris - You guys work so freaking manically fast! It's crazy you figured out how reduce the draw call count by half! If this is what you're doing with ENB at game release, I hesitate to think of how awesome it's going to be 6 months to a year from here. I can't wait to see your AO and water displacement (god I love that water displacement in Skyrim).
