Re: Dragon's Dogma 0.298
I agree that an option to exclude grass from detailed shadows would be a good addition. I think depending on your AO setup it could be better without

Re: Dragon's Dogma 0.298
I think detailed shadow in grass does a lot of great work that ao could only do if you dialed it to 11. With detailed shadows in place, I can fine tune the ao to compliment it rather than compensate for it.

Hello, amazing work on those 298 binaries boris.
Now, small question. Any enb preset (available for download) that has these features enabled like the screenshot from confidence man? Loving the look but sadly can't find anything
More precisely i'm referring to the indirect lighting, or ambient light or whatever it is that makes the lighting look natural instead of like it's from 2010 or something.

O.K. maybe I'm the only one who see the difference :
I know that my english isn't really good, but I don't wont to completely remove detailed shadow.
I would only to have a choice between :
- OMFG, this grass looks so real, I'll leave it turned on.
and
- OH NO, the grass is so poorly designed in this game, that even with detailed shadow looks really bad, I'll keep it off.

Re: Dragon's Dogma 0.298
I have a possible shadows glitch to report, I've tested toggling as many settings on and off in the ENB as I can to try to fix it.
Whenever I equip my lantern, I get the detailed shadow plus the old blocky shadow. I did test with "hidefakeshadow=true" as well as false, AO on and off, original post processing on and off as well as several other things. Here's the link to four pictures on imgur showing the shadows with lantern on, and lantern off.

I do have medium Lite version of don't blind me installed, but I also tested it without don't blind me installed, full vanilla installation of the game other than ENB.
I'm using an I7 4790k @ 4ghz with an AMD radeon r9 280x 3gb video card.
I thought maybe it's my video card since i'm on AMD? But if there are any settings I can fiddle with to fix it please let me know.
PS I almost forgot to say thank you for ENB and if there's any more info you need I'll be happy to supply it.

Boris
Thank you for another awesome update
Remember to sleep so you do not get to tired ^^
Guzio
I think it looks awesome but grass needs camera in right angles and honestly at high angles grass look crap anyhow just like you said.
Then again the giant low res ground textures at some places does not help either.
If Boris want to and can seperate grass shadows from everything else I do not think anyone would mind if he added the option.
Just looking at detailed shadow test images Boris made, looks kinda impossible to me unless grass have own shader.
But I do not know much about it and if someone can it is Boris ^^
Either way I prefer having detailed shadows on, cause detailed shadows for everything looks better I think

Re: Dragon's Dogma 0.298
I don't think the skylighting is as good as in .297, something happened ... It doesn't really get darker in corners, the same way as .297 did.. in .298 it kind of act like ambient light intensity.. Or maybe it's just me?

Re: Dragon's Dogma 0.298
Ambient Occlusion doesn't seem to be working properly in 298.

298:

Best to open in separate tabs to switch between.
My settings for 297 and 298 are the same, Ambient Occlusion and Detailed Shadows are set to TRUE and the exact same amounts, intensities, etc.

Impossible to exclude grass or any other objects from computing detailed shadows, same as add objects to computations.

That shots are using directional ambient, you may set it blue for top and orange for bottom to have same effect. But better wait, i did weather system for such things (unfortunately only 3 weathers found atm, users will dump weatherIDs from stats).
SaraGames
Not sure that i understand your complains, but detailed shadow is computed for sun light only now.
AO and skylighting works properly in recent version, the reason you see difference is because of changes of albedo and lighting extraction code from data which is not enough for such operation. Grass is a different thing, it have single direction normal (no per pixel normal), so in 0.298 i did a workaround to prevent directional ambient to affect ssao by colors too much. In version i'm currently developing increased fake albedo amount, so ssao and skylighting will have much darker lower levels.

Re: Dragon's Dogma 0.298
Nevermind, if detailed shadows are computed only for sunlight right now I guess I am supposed to have two shadows when both lantern light and sunlight are shining on character models. Thank you! Your work is great and I hope you get to play the game soon. If you still need save games let us know what levels or areas you'd like them at? I'm only level 14 at the moment but maybe soon I'll have some you can use.
