I love it how it looks closer to real life than any other preset IMHO. Yes, I dare to say that and I guess I am full of it because, IMHO, with custom ENB presets, many places look amazing, while others suffering. The same can be said about screenshots, which often make something stand out, while the rest, like dark/black detail, loses itself in the process. What's your opinion?
Only the following ENB setting were used:
- Force VRAM
- Remove Fake Lights
- Depth of Field

Only the following ReShade settings were used:
- LumaSharpen
- AdaptiveSharpen
- Grain (Colored)
- Dithering
More to come! BTW- how do I resize images to properly fit and yet be expandable? I don't want to be THAT GUY who posts huge screenshots because he thinks he's special... or his screenshots are!

Re: Fallout 4

shadows are too bright. Ambient lighting is lacking. not my thing and certainly not Reshade but no matter. is all a matter of taste.

I am not trying to make it look "good", but to make it look "life-like". I mean you can try, for example, to portray your character in the best of light and use ENB + ReShade to create a high-contrast image with dark shadows that add to the detail of your character + DoF to blur our everything except what you want to show.

That is not at all what I am trying to do. I am going for the most life-like approach. How many truly dark/black shadows do you see on a bright or even mid-day outside or even inside? I live in a very dark house with few windows and even with that I rarely see a pitch-black shadows from any objects.

I am trying to mimic what it would look like in reality, as if you were actually there, and it seems that raw sRGB Base LUT's + Vanilla ENB (with DoF) + ReShade's detail-enhancing (colored grain + dithering) and sharpening (AdaptiveSharpen + LumaSharpen) effects produce the most desirable effect.

Well then, you're doing it wrong. This is how "life-like" stuff looks, here, I found some Iraq ruins for ya.

You could not be more incorrect. I recommend putting your ego on the shelf, developing a sense of patience, studying photographic imagery and learning how ENB's more powerful tools work. As I understand, you basically added DoF (like every other ENB), used a neutral LUT and added a bunch of sharpening. Without looking at any screenshots, it is clear that these types of changes would not be sufficient to craft a realistic looking image.

Re: Fallout 4

Extremely low contrast and high gamma is not really a way to make up for the lack of skylighting and light bouncing. You can have light shadows, but colours are messed up and everything looks washed out. The only way is to wait for the ENB update or to edit ambient colours of the weathers to make ambient lighting brighter with blue tint during the sunny weathers.

Re: Fallout 4

MonarchX; You can use my plugin if you want better vanilla lighting to build your preset : http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/7657/?
(Still work in progress though, and subject to change)

I need to reinject some of the game post process in my preset in order to keep the night vision and recon sight functional, and it bother me a lot.
Does someone here ever tried the sweetFx injector with JaawZ's MSL ? Is it compatible ?
