TES Skyrim 0.303 ENBoost

The Elder Scrolls Skyrim (TES Skyrim)

Graphic mod ENBSeries / patch ENBoost 0.303

Added new ENBoost features which improve stability at cost of performance, check parameters under [THREADS] category of enblocal.ini. Bigger values for DataSync and Priority modes means lower frame rate, more stuttering and higher incompatibility with other software, some previously working screen capturing tools may crash or be extremely slow with new setting other than 0. Developed and tested for mods pack which have 40% crash rate on loading, when DataSyncMode=1 no crashes occurs.
Please avoid sharing enblocal.ini, new setting depends from OS, CPU and some other software running and need to be configured individually.
Also be careful with saving game, game scripts and physics may act differently, better make backup of saves until this version will be fully tested.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.303 ENBoost

Tried it with my test from previous thread and it still crashes unfortunately. I also tried increasing the values to:

[THREADS]
DataSyncMode=2
PriorityMode=1

What are the ranges for these parameters? Higher is more stable right?

Thanks for fighting on for stable Skyrim!

Re: TES Skyrim 0.303 ENBoost

2 and 4 are max limits for these parameters at this moment. I've said already that bugs with the mod installed have nothing to do with the mod itself, search for crapware or incompatible mods.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.303 ENBoost

I'm going to test this with my 50GB heavy skyrim setup :D

There was an ongoing discussion about this mod;

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/?

resulting in two questions:

The mod comes with different 'fixes' and there is some information given in the readme:
; ATTENTION: IF YOU HAVE ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true IN YOUR enblocal.ini THEN YOU SHOULD DISABLE THIS (SET 0)
AlignHeapAllocate=1
For me, is it working flawlessly, both ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true and AlignHeapAllocate=1 in this Crash Fixes SKSE plugin. Did you (Boris) already see this plugin? And what do you think about it?
"ENB: I don't use ENB, so I don't know what settings to recommend. STEP recommends to set ExpandSystemMemoryX64 false if you have SKSE."
(written by the mod author)

Why does STEP give us that advice? I also use both SKSE and ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.303 ENBoost

No, i almost never look at mods and never heard of it.
Why does STEP give us that advice? I also use both SKSE and ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true.
Don't know, i'm not the author of that guide. If ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true fails to work, it's crapware or buggy SKSE plugin, in both cases they need to be eliminated or fixed by authors.

The problem with the memory patch implemented in SKSE is in wrong value set by default, my words about this problem were ignored and now too late to change anything. Simply decrease 768 mb to, let's say 512 mb. Just another popular mistake of programmers.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.303 ENBoost

Okay, thank you for your information!

edit: sry for double post: I don't have any issues with DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768, but 512 works the same. higher values although make the game crash more often.

here are some results:

Testing with following Setup:

Rig: i7-4930K 6 cores / 12 threads @ 4.4 Ghz
2x GTX 980 SLI
16 GB RAM
Windows 10 pro, 64bit

Using following (memory/stability related mods)

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/72725/? "Crash fixes"
http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46465/? "Safety Load"
and the SKSE memory patch with following settings:

[Memory]
DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768
ScrapHeapSizeMB=256

_________________________________________
ENB settings:

[MEMORY]
ExpandSystemMemoryX64=true
ReduceSystemMemoryUsage=true
DisableDriverMemoryManager=false
DisablePreloadToVRAM=false
EnableUnsafeMemoryHacks=false
ReservedMemorySizeMb=256
VideoMemorySizeMb=3968
EnableCompression=false
AutodetectVideoMemorySize=false

_________________________________________

Tested with player.modav speedmult 2000, tcl und tgm, "flying through the world".

Note: My Skyrim Setup was quite stable, also with .302 and the mods/settings I use above. The only crash I 'sometimes' experienced, happens right after quicksaving, sometimes.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.303 ENBoost

Sorry, but these results are useless. Game have various types of bugs and i'm fixing only some of them in 6.0, in tested conditions such issues almost never occurs, Sheson patch and memory manager of old ENBoost fixes most "speed fly" crashes. Win10, sli/crossfire and all recent nvidia/amd drivers makes things even worse.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.303 ENBoost

Unfortunately the Data sync setting on 1 or 2 causes a constant pausing or jitter when I'm near moving water, if I set it to 0 the water flows smoothly as it should, I'm not sure what the priority mode is meant to do, you say the Data sync fixes some bugs is priority mode the same or does it do another job.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.303 ENBoost

Try to change prioritymode to 4

PS: my water is fine, so it's all very individual and may be you have manually tweaked skyrim config file.

Re: TES Skyrim 0.303 ENBoost

Yeah seems to be more noticeable when used with priority mode , if I set Data sync to 1 and priority mode 0 its much less noticeable. Data sync 1 does seem to make the game much more stable though so great work mate thanks for sharing this.
