[Skyrim] Slightly Transparent Object

I've been searching for a solution but can't seem to find any that will help me fix this bug.

I don't see what is wrong on screenshots, but i know that many doors in the game have a bug. Particle patch probably have a fix of them.

Re: [Skyrim] Slightly Transparent Object

I am experiencing a similar bug that started happening shortly after I ran the spINI app (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69787/?) and updated ENB (without graphical modification) to version 0.279, so I am assuming it's one of those that caused it, most likely because I didn't set something correctly.

Some meshes (or textures, not sure) that should disappear don't do so. The most notorious examples are flowers and other harvestable ingredients. After being harvested, instead of disappearing, they actually remain there, only a little more transparent than before.

Similar behavior is also observed on other cases, like some banners in dungeons or the Hermaeus Mora tentacles inside Septimus Signus' Outpost. I could see them on the entrance before Mora's actual appearance and conversation with me.

Recently, I noticed that the Steel Horned Helmet is also displaying semitransparent when equipped by my character and follower, but not when dropped.

Is this an ENB problem? How can I fix it?

Re: [Skyrim] Slightly Transparent Object

Hard to say without seeing in movement, but i suspect it is one of shadow parameter in skyrimprefs.ini ("shadowmask" or "defermask" something...), because these dots means shadow or/and skylighting not filtered. Why it causes transparency, it's something different, example with flowers is totally new for me and it's definetly not mod related bug, even if it happens with the mod installed. Restore game config (back it, then delete, game will make new one), change video drivers, make sure no software running which may hook in to game process (crapware).

Re: [Skyrim] Slightly Transparent Object

I deleted my Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini and started the game so new ones would be created. I noticed the same behavior, as you can see on these pictures:

Could this have happened on the update to ENB v. 0.279? I don't remember this happening before updating to this version. Perhaps some setting on enb .ini's?

I am not going to update my video drivers because all the times I did so a disaster happened (the name of my GPU changed, as if the drivers recommended by AMD were for a different card, followed by all kinds of graphic bugs you can imagine).

Re: [Skyrim] Slightly Transparent Object

In some of versions i made alpha depth to fix transparent objects for mist, ssao and some other effects, but code is done to fix bugs which you see instead of apply them. Looks like something with render states seriously corrupted or objects by the game not drawed propery. Btw, if this happened after spINI usage, why do you ask me?

Re: [Skyrim] Slightly Transparent Object

I installed both enb and spINI at the same time, so I assumed it was one of them. I asked this same question at the spINI Step forums and the author said it was unlikely this was a problem with that app. Besides, all spINI does is configure Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini. Since I deleted those files and ran the game (so new inis were created) and the problem persisted, I assumed it was a enb problem.

Anyway, I'll try updating to 0.305 when I have the time and report back. Thanks for the support!

Re: [Skyrim] Slightly Transparent Object

May be you have mod manager and it have a copy of skyrim config file, so deleting the one doesn't help. Anyway, you are alone with this issue and with amount of crapware popular these days together with AMD drivers will be hard to find culprit. Don't bother tweaking the mod or switching different versions of it, search for software (terminate processes), wrong driver setting, different driver version.

Re: [Skyrim] Slightly Transparent Object

Voilà! I updated enbseries to 0.305 and ENBoost to 6.1 and the problem is solved. Although I also ran spINI again, so either one could have fixed the issue (I'm guessing spINI).
