Re: TES Skyrim

I got gtx580 and 2600k.
when the 26k is stock is runs okay, but @4,5GHz it runs like a beast, got a boost of 10fps and more. CPU is most important in Skyrim..

Gionight
Great, as always. More important - great perspective and angles. And smooth! :)

As for me, im trying to make Skytim look as fantasy as possible. I aint making realistic stuff, i just want to make something witcher 2 like or something similar + colours.

Hm, seems like yandex.ru is trying to fool me and quality of the shots are pathetic. I save them as jpegs with minimal loss of quality, but theyre resized again by yandex.ru. I dont want to post full-size screens, theyre 1080p and will block the whole page.

Re: TES Skyrim

Regarding the CPU being the bottleneck, I don't know... I'm running an Intel 2600k at 4.8GHz with an AMD 6950 (flashed it to use the 6970 shaders, so it's essentially a 6970) and my GPU if often the source of my low FPS. The CPU is used, sure (along one core mostly), but it's not running 100% constantly with 1.9GB of VRAM consumption. Even when I lover my overclock down to stock speeds, there's little change seeing as the GPU is still taking the brunt of the hit.

Yeah it's very easy to run out of VRAM when running Skyrim with texture overhauls etc (or even just the HD textures Beth released), which ofcourse will cause issues.

This can be so frustrating at times, because when I look at things; if I so much as want to run texture overhauls alongside ENB Skyrim just says "nope" and eats all of my VRAM in one fell swoop, I think it's due to the way Skyrim loads it's Level of detail (I say this because when loading the textures when turning around/entering new areas, my game will skip frames or slow to a crawl due to the amount of VRAM it is taking to load said textures, and in some cases when entering interiors can even slow your game down to 2fps until you relaunch the game)

It's a shame because IMO ENB with texture overhauls would be gorgeous, after this happened to me I was dubious of using the Bethesda HD pack, but thankfully it works fine.

Gionight, Dpeasant
